Festival goes camping! pop-up campsite Tijdloos in Drenthe – where can we sign?
Can we just draw attention to an insane 'new concept', resulting from the corona crisis (every disadvantage has its advantage)? The festival season did not, and still does, not take place. After enough cursing and ranting, we were able to somewhat put an end to that; it's okay. Especially because a kind of festival 2.0 was launched into the world. Festival + camping! The two have always gone hand in hand, which is why many festival organizations have chosen them serious skills, ruthless creativity and a good eye for decorating a dusty site (if we can name a few similarities) for the better pop-up camping. Like the people behind it kickass festivals such as Mysteryland, Welcome to the Future and Defqon.1...
ID&T is the name of the gameplayer and the people behind this brand new concept: camping Timeless, camping the way we want in 2020.
Well, we won't get any closer to a festival this year. We think. But we have now opted for an annual outing to Camping Tijdloos. Read along…'The most wonderful holiday destination of 2020′, that's what the organizers dare to call their campsite, and of course we go there. The idea? Now is the time to stand still and be with each other. The result? Festival camping Timeless.
Anyway, let's set the facts straight. The beautiful Ermerstrand, in Hello Nice Drenthe, immediately turned out to be the ideal place for an intimate concept. Between lawns, forests, a lake and two islands, there turned out to be a perfect location for a unique campsite.
For more than a month, every day between July 10 and August 27, an extensive program of activities for body, mind and soul organized. Workshops and theatre, intimate pop-up concerts and lectures or – and this is what we go for – rest.
Relax with yoga, meditation and shamanic ceremonies, for example. Of course, active people have also been taken into account. For them (you know who you are) there is a diverse sporting program with water skiing, swimming, SUPing and so on. Also nice: there is plenty to do for the kiddos. Ha! Educational nature workshops, exciting treasure hunts and spending the days in the playgrounds. Enough to romp around for a few hours.
Making a site, beautiful in itself, even more beautiful. That's exactly what ID&T has shown many times before. Things will not be any different with Tijdloos and we expect the site to be colorfully transformed loads of light and art installations and the most beautiful decor pieces made from natural and recycled materials. And culinary enthusiasts have also been taken into account. A sustainable and varied range is available. There is a supermarket, barbecue facilities and breakfast packages are available at your tent before dawn. There is even a romantic stretch of beach reserved for one candle light dinner à deux. With a different chef by invitation every week. Who said camping can't be romantic?
And then, what really matters, of course, where do you sleep? Why not go glamping? Or, for the real adventurers among us: dragging your own hut. Everything is allowed, everything is possible. Choosing between different glamping accommodations that are fully equipped sounds more tempting. Although we still fear that the journey to Timeless will fly by in the blink of an eye. Enjoy while it lasts, is therefore the magical credo that we give.
