Freeport Zwier, escape from the city
Overnight stay in the Netherlands at Vrijhaven Zwier; yes please! We are in love with the place and have written about it enthusiastically before. In fact, we have been swinging for two springs in a row, and one autumn. The next visit to Vrijhaven Zwier has already been planned. Anyway, you understand, we are fans. Because who wouldn't want to stay in a cottage in the harbour with use of a hot tub and sauna? Or enjoy a sunset from a bell tent? Or chug across the water when everyone has long since gone home? Exactly. Even for campers who are not yet convinced, we can highly recommend Zwier.
On Sundays you don't check out until 16.00 p.m., so another extra lunch and extra time to take advantage of everything!
Vrijhaven Zwier is less than an eight-minute drive away once you leave the Amsterdam Ring Road and despite this short distance you will find yourself in a completely different world. Promised. Idyllic country roads, chugging boats and curious ducks. On the grounds of Swing you will find comfortably furnished bell tents right on the water and luxurious harbor houses with... look and feel of a tinyhouse, but with a spectacular view of the harbour. Comfortable, yes, and wildly attractive: the interior of the tents and the kitchen and showers come straight out of VT Wonen.
Vrijhaven Zwier has six brand new Havenhuisjes, each with three of their own Havenkamers. They are located in the best spot: around the swimming pond, directly in the harbor with a view of bobbing boats. For those who want to swing solo, there are also twelve solo Havenkamers. Nice to withdraw yourself completely, between the flowers and by the water. It doesn't get any better than this.
If you want, you have the opportunity to eat deliciously at Vrijhaven Zwier. That means a whole weekend of delicious vegetarian and organic meals from the Huiskamer - bring it on.
The circular Harbor Houses and Harbor Rooms have a very unique view over the harbor, picture-perfect from your bed. All the comfort you need while relaxing exhaust. Each house, of 30m2, has its own bathroom with rain shower, sink and toilet, and of course a lovely king-size bed. Via a step you reach an extra single bed. There is also a cozy sitting area and an outdoor area.
Brand new are the (solo)Havenkamers. No less than six pieces, comfortable and directly on the swimming pond. You have the Havenkamer all to yourself with a plus one. All rooms have their own entrance.
In summer you can also use the SUPs and canoes. Yes!
A box spring and warm blankets to sleep under, a rain shower to wash yourself and delicious (vegetarian) food to order. Yes, these points seem to be more appropriate for a luxury stay than a weekend of camping. Anti-campers p so, our beloved Vrijhaven Zwier. The camping feeling is definitely there, we like it. The coziness of the Zwier family, the friendly atmosphere among the guests and the picnicking on a blanket in front of your tent until after sunset give you the wonderful feeling of a weekend outside. The city feels miles away.
We won't make it too long, because we think that experiencing it yourself is a much better advice. Relaxing in nature, that is definitely part of it.
At Vrijhaven Zwier you can easily spend a day without people, talking, mobile phones or any other distractions. Nice solo, or with each other. Just leave everything as it is and if you want you can join a yoga class, be active on the water with a sup, wellness, or just come to yourself during one of the many retreats. They also have a wood-fired hot tub and a sauna and you can just use them, as well as join one of the inspiration sessions. There is always a nice program in the agenda. But the most important thing: nothing is mandatory, everything is allowed.
Ho Wacht Stop! One more thing: the Living Room of Vrijhaven Zwier. A very nice café-restaurant where you feel at home in no time. Read a good book, play a game or end up in a good conversation and eat a delicious meal.
You will be completely pampered at Vrijhaven Zwier, because all (yes all!) meals are included for guests. You will enjoy a fixed vegetarian and inspiring menu. All you have to do is enjoy yourself. How nice is that? You can pick up these delicious meals that are prepared from the Living Room from the chef and take them to your cottage.
Here you will find the Zwier shop and the Bar van Vertrouwen. You are welcome, crawl behind the bar and grab your own drink. You select the drinks from your own list and pay for them when you check out.
