Dutch holiday homes and hotels with a (outdoor) swimming pool

Summer reminded us of our childhood holidays (yes, of course we only remember the good parts) when summers seemed to last forever and we lived outside 24/7. We want more of that. Also 'just' between companies if possible. Long weekends or just very long holidays in your own country. What adds to the festive spirit? An outdoor swimming pool. Hence this list Dutch holiday homes and hotels with an outdoor swimming pool. Don't mention it.

Hotel de Beyaerd

Hotel de Beyaerd

When life gives you A weekend getaway in your own country? Chances are pretty good you'll find a nice hotel in the Veluwe region. Good idea! And even if it's warm, because Hotel de Beyaerd is a great choice in these parts. Deer and wild boar on the doorstep, Harderwijk nearby, a lovely restaurant in the cozy hotel, and bombs are an option for all ages. Oh, and dogs are welcome too.

Badhotel Rockanje

Badhotel Rockanje

The three-star hotel Rockanje is located in the South Holland town of Rockanje on the island of Voorne-Putten, where it feels like, note: Canada. In the middle of the dunes and between the conifers there is a North American lookalike Lodge hotel. A robust interior, lots of wood, and warm red, black, and caramel hues. Beautiful! Why would you want to stay here? Simple: relax on the terrace in the sun in the summer, by the pool (POOL!), or on the beach. And...

Badhotel Rockanje The hotel also has a fine restaurant: Brasserie Lodgers. From breakfast and lunch to high tea, high wine, and dinner. The rooms are clad in wood wherever possible, the curtains are a warm red, the heater is on, and the lamps are decorated with antlers.

The Green House, Nistelrode

The Green House, Nistelrode

The Green House Nistelrode in Brabant is not located in the Maashorst nature reserve (but is in the green) and is simply very nice and beautiful. The nature house was recently built entirely from sustainable materials, which is one, and furnished with (much!) taste. Beautiful soft gray colors, nice beds, a large living room/kitchen, spacious bathroom with underfloor heating and two comfortable bedrooms, each with a double bed. Inside everything we fleek but of course it's about outside. That's great: there is a wood stove, plenty of wood and there is a (shared) swimming pool. You share it with the neighbors and that is completely okay.

The Coach House of Poiesz & Co, Rockanje

The Coach House of Poiesz & Co, Rockanje

We had not heard of Poiesz and co before, but now that we know them, we will never forget them. Poiesz & co has not one but no fewer than four great accommodations in the country, most of which are authentic Carriage house in Rockanje. It is located in a beautiful wooded garden between the dunes and farmlands of Westvoorne, close to the beach. The name already gives it away: the coach house used to be a stable. Nowadays it is a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful garden, the lovely swimming pool and the dunes, which are within walking distance, in the summer. In winter a nice place to unwind by a warm stove and relax in the sauna, which is also located in the Coach House.

Guesthouse the Coach House Eefde, Gelderland

Guesthouse the Coach House Eefde, Gelderland

About one picture-perfect Speaking of guesthouses for the happy modern family: Eefde is the place to be. The topic of conversation is a stylishly renovated stable with a truly magnificent garden. The kind of garden every city dweller dreams of, and it belongs to a stately farmhouse dating back to 1804, where the owners live. You could easily miss it during your stay, so private is it. In the green Gelderland region, not far from Deventer, Apeldoorn, and the Veluwe. Aha. The old stable, where not so long ago the farm animals were kept, of this Gelderland farmhouse has been renovated into a guest house for four or five guests. From the large, farmhouse-like windows, you can look out over that enviable garden with a swimming pond.

B&B Villa Anna, Venlo

B&B Villa Anna, Venlo

A real one catch we find B&B Villa Anna in cozy Venlo. The stately mansion has many old elements inside (we think it's beautiful) and the last B of B&B is in excellent condition. Although it is mainly the lovely swimming pool between the trees that is proudly displayed next to the stately villa. One hell of a swimming pool. And within a few minutes of cycling you are in the middle of the coziness of Venlo. Ha!

And while you're here, we have all fun here in Venlo listed for you

Irish Bowtop Ouerdezicht

Irish Bowtop Ouerdezicht

Since the Dutch summers are no longer so cold, holiday addresses with a swimming pool (a swimming pool!) are our preference. There aren't that many of them (yep), but the landlords of Ourommeldezicht in the Wouwse Plantage (that's a village near Bergen op Zoom, which is nice) have it. Not only a swimming pool and a great house for rental, but also a... Irish Bowtop (that's a round caravan, it's nice) in the large garden. From that cozy caravan you can walk straight into the swimming pool. From the Wouwse Plantage you can easily reach historic, picturesque Bergen op Zoom (which is certainly good for a few oohs and aahs) and from Bergen op Zoom you can easily reach Zeeland. Voilà: vacation!

B&B VACAY Dune Lodges

B&B VACAY Dune Lodges

What a wonderful place, B&B VACAY Dune Lodges. It exudes peace and greenery, 500 meters from the dunes. There is a mature woodland garden (a private forest with a fire pit), swimming pool (of course), hot tub and rental bicycles. Kids? Welcome from fourteen years. Each room has its own sanitary facilities and patio doors with access to the garden with seating. What also sounds so relaxing: in the morning a complete breakfast basket will be placed in front of your lodge at 9.00:XNUMX am.

Paradise etc

Paradise etc

In 2012 (oh my...we already wrote (very briefly) about this fantastic spot in the Achterhoek region, designed by Dutch design icon Piet Hein Eek, and today, spring 2024, we're eager to return again/still/time and time again. Click here to see for yourself why this little house in the Achterhoek region has been dubbed "Paradise." A paradise for "with the kids" above all, perfect for a midweek break in the summer or a long weekend during the wood-burning stove season.

B&B De Lichtboei, the Veluwe

B&B De Lichtboei, the Veluwe

The Veluwe is always a good idea. For example, if the heather is purple. And with a bit of luck you will also encounter an 'Indian Summer'. That would be a bonus because that means you really the best of all worlds if you have a few extra days The Light Buoy you have booked. This sleek holiday home with an equally sleek swimming pool was more than attractive (hello, great details everywhere!) and furnished with a lot of love. The name? This comes from the school that used to stand on this site, near the house of the owners who, after the demolition of the school (which could no longer be 'saved'), saw their opportunity and bought the land for the construction of their beautiful B&B. .

Het Roode Koper estate, Ermelo

Het Roode Koper estate, Ermelo

Dutch luxury with the classic estate Het Roode Koper, in the middle of the Veluwe (remains impressive), or so we think. The estate may seem a bit stiff at first, for example when you visit the website. That old chic that may be nice, but is a bit out of date. Wrong! Don't be put off by the somewhat old-fashioned approach to the website: once inside you will notice that the fancy accommodation address is much more contemporary than you think. That's because of the friendly staff who know how to offer a luxury that is timeless, every season and for all ages. A bit like the British do best: looks chic, but with a mug of beer on the table. So to speak. The horse stables have room for guest horses (yes: bring your own horse), the large heated outdoor swimming pool rivals that of a hotel on a mountain in Italy. A day of sailing on Lake Veluwe can be arranged in an instant, as can a visit to the KröllerMüller Museum. Oh, and Het Roode Koper has a great kitchen where they cook with ingredients from the region and their own gardens. Now you again.

The Glory of Noordwelle, Noordwelle

The Glory of Noordwelle, Noordwelle

It feels South African, guest accommodation the Lordship of Noordwelle, but it is really located in Noordwelle, Zeeland. That foreign touch comes from the swimming pool including palm trees and the beach within walking distance and well, if everything looks pico bello, you have us. This wonderful place to stay is small but nice because of the five rooms, each with its own bathroom. Children from the age of five are warmly welcomed here, but not everyone below. This is not meant in a rude manner, but has everything to do with the lack of children's facilities and the swimming pool, which has no safety features. That's absolutely fine, then put it on the list for later and go with just the two of you while you still can/if possible. Secretly we like it, nothing but cleanliness and sleeping through the night around us.

B&B De Zandhoef, Eersel

B&B De Zandhoef, Eersel

Anyone who likes peace, space, brown tones (with a touch of swimming pool blue) can go to Eersel in Brabant. That's where the luxury is B&B De Zandhoef. You stay very privately on the owners' land. The jacuzzi in front of your door? You have that for yourself. The swimming pool actually belongs to your host's house, but you can go in there too. The house can accommodate a maximum of 6 people, but 2 to 4 people actually suits better. But hey, it's possible. The outdoor swimming pool is heated and you can also use the outdoor kitchen. It is envious, yes. We found a nice rule on the site: “Furthermore, your horses or dogs are of course also welcome with us.” Look, pack up those four-legged friends immediately.

The Kingfisher

The Kingfisher

De IJsvogel near Voorthuizen (just south of Flevoland) is the perfect spot for your domestic holiday or weekend getaway. And of course, it has an outdoor pool. But you get more than that. Some holiday homes even have a mini spa in your garden. Now that's a holiday, isn't it?

In the morning you can hear the buzz of children splashing around in the outdoor and indoor pools, in the afternoon you can throw a ball at the bowling alley or get on your bike to explore the Veluwe and in the evening you can join in The Gasterij for a drink and a good dinner.

Vacation!

Auberge De Hilver, Diessen

Auberge De Hilver, Diessen

Oh yes, hello, absolutely NOTHING in Brabant's nature - where can we sign? Or well, nothing at all: Auberge De Hilver in Diessen, Brabant, has a very large swimming pool to run around to your heart's content/jump in/do bombs and more of the like (especially to cool down), while fathers/mothers/uncles/aunts or anyone else can join in. on the side on the spacious terrace in the sun, enjoy some well-deserved 'rest'. Oh, and the Hilver food 'truck' (it's actually a van) is downright cute, and the food that comes from it is just very good. The hotel rooms are absolutely fine, and there is always something to do in the area (because Brabant nights are long again after the pandemic).
