Val Thorens opens the Le Board sports and wellness complex
By the name Val Thorens it certainly rings a bell. At first it was mainly known as a ski resort among partying students, but that image has long since disappeared. This winter sports resort is located in the Savoie department in France. It is the highest ski resort in Europe, to be precise (2300 meters altitude), and Val Tho has no less than 650 kilometers of groomed slopes. And a young one, that's Val Thorens too. In 2022, this ski area will be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary and that is cause for celebration. That is why Val Thorens is opening the Le Board sports and wellness complex for its fiftieth anniversary. It took two years, but the wait was well worth it. Le Board is a sports and wellness complex at an altitude of 2.300 meters in the shape of a snowboard.
Le Board is therefore located at the foot of the slopes at approximately 2.300 meters above sea level. And it's pretty much everything you can think of together. For example, you have an integration of a bus station with luggage drop and reception area, allowing you to enter no time at your accommodation. On the snowboard roof you look out over the Alps; inside it's all ultra-modern. Think of conference rooms, sports areas and a water park.
A concert, an open-air cinema or Christmas village for 3.000 people in the village? Nothing is too crazy and everything is possible.
