Pretty, prettier, prettiest: Warren Street Hotel New York

Handsome, handsomer, handsomest. The latter category includes Warren Street Hotel New York. The five stars that adorn the facade are more than worth it, and not just because of the interior. Although that is certainly worth five. Or six, or seven.

The mastermind behind the interior design of the 69 different rooms and suites, most of which overlook Manhattan and the Hudson River, of the Warren Street Hotel is Kit Kemp. The leading British interior designer is the creative force behind Firmdale Hotels, the company she founded with her husband Tim Kemp. Her unique, eclectic style is characterized by striking colors, playful patterns and a mix of modern and antique elements. Every now and then she creates collections ranging from fabrics and furniture to tableware and scented candles. Where can you admire all that? Right, in her own hotel. Not that she thinks too highly of herself, there is also plenty of art by other creators hanging on the walls. The common areas, such as the brasserie and the private dining room called The Orangery, are decorated with striking furniture pieces, including a Wendell Castle sofa and tables by Tony Cragg.
