Tour of Zeeland? Zierikzee tour! So much to experience…
Anyone who likes lovely and (we don't call that small, but) well-organized towns should come in Zierikzee definitely got his money's worth. Yet the city is a bit of a neglected child of the province of Zeeland and we don't understand that. The town in the southwest of the country is packed with monuments, cute alleys and squares and has an old port. Hence, apart from us Tour of Zeeland (check that link! Packed with tips in one of the nicest provinces in the Netherlands), a round of Zierikzee.
Then browse directly to Bed & Breakfast De Theetap in the center of the city. There are two bedrooms, the White Suite and the Pink Room, but no bright white and bright pink walls here: it is calm, cool colors that rule the roost. From both rooms you have a view of a cute park and you can easily find yourself among the shops, for which the hostess is happy to give you tips. Since there is little that gives you such a holiday feeling as floating for hours in foam, it is not unimportant to know that the White Suite has a bath. The bathroom there is open, so if you want more privacy, you have to go to the Pink Room. It has a separate bathroom in the hallway. The stay includes a varying breakfast, which you can enjoy downstairs Tea Gallery eat, and then you can hit the road. After all, everything is within walking distance in Zierikzee.
Don't leave the Teatap without visiting the shop at the bottom of the building. Here you can browse through the trinkets.
The Zeeland Heaven started as a small shop and it still is, but it is now also a restaurant including a lovely sunny garden and you can also stay there. So at home in all markets and that's how we prefer to see them. Let's start at the store: it is full of jars and tins filled with delicious things to take home or you can put together your own picnic basket to eat elsewhere. Then the restaurant, where the dishes on the menu are slightly different than usual and the courtyard where you can feel like a king (okay, provided the sun shines...).
On to Rookoo than. The owners here traveled all over the world and returned overwhelmed by all the wonderful things each country had to offer. Now they like to share their experiences with others. Okayisgood. On the Roekoekoe menu you will find those golden oldies with a twist, such as barbecued apple pie and chocolate milk sweetened with dates and a touch of cardamom. Or how about a bagel filled with whiting in Thai curry or ramen with pork belly? Correct. Not hungry? Even the enormous range of teas and coffee has been put together with utmost concentration. Before you know it, you'll be sipping a cup of tea made from cherry leaves with an eclair made from sea buckthorn berry and mocha – that will certainly go well with it. You can thank us later.

You can also enjoy a remarkably good breakfast and lunch in Zierikzee Mr. Nilsson, a contemporary address that would not look out of place in the Randstad. Not that the Randstad is holy now, mind you! You get the point. In any case, it is a place where the coffee is something to write home about, the granola is home-made and the vintage lampshades brick wall and complement the rugged counter made of corrugated iron so nicely.

You can enjoy a chic meal at the restaurant Christ, part of the city's youngest hotel: Hotel Mondragon, a more than nice hotel where, surprise, you can also bring your dog.
