We found us a new favourite! And the name is: Can Dendê. Can Dendê Barcelona. This small cozy shop is hidden in the El Poblenou district (near the metro stop of the same name) and even if you are standing at the crossroads - there is a crossroads, you can't miss it - you can easily look past Can Dendê there. That's nice because: less people. That doesn't mean that Can Dendê has already conquered many hearts... So still plenty of people. Less tourist people, that's true. And besides, all those people are just fun of course. You are parked outside (in the Spanish sun) with a coffee and before you know it you are sitting inside at one of the few tables. Can Dendê has above all understood that the way to everyone's heart is through their stomach: it is really, excuse the old-fashioned word, a treat here. Plus: everything looks like a picture. To order: the pancakes with pulled pork, French toast, scrambled eggs, the bagel with salmon plus the homemade ice tea in a jug with straws (of course with rum, duhAt Can Dendê, they pay so much attention to detail that there is even a plant and a candle burning in the toilet.
