Villa Le Blanc, Menorca
It has long been no secret that we (and many others) enjoy visiting Ibiza, Formentera, and Mallorca. Menorca has also become considerably more popular in recent years, although it is still just a bit quieter than the aforementioned islands. Right on the beach of Santo Tomás, between two bays on the south coast of Menorca, lies Hotel Villa Le Blanc.
Villa Le Blanc is quite minimalist, featuring many natural materials and a tranquil atmosphere. Light spaces, natural materials such as wood, stone, and clay, and a color palette consisting almost entirely of white and sand tones. The hotel belongs to the Gran Meliá group, a relatively small, exclusive collection of hotels that are luxurious but not over-the-top. Less classic than The Ritz-Carlton and less trendy than Edition Hotels, exactly the sweetspot but without the frills. In recent years, Gran Meliá has also positioned itself strongly on sustainability: Villa Le Blanc is a good example of this, one of their first carbon-neutral hotels.
Villa Le Blanc has several restaurants that follow the same philosophy: local, seasonal, and no-nonsense. Expect Mediterranean dishes with products from the island, fish, olive oil, vegetables, and a clear focus on flavor. Naturally, all in a pleasant setting. The hotel has even more to offer: including two swimming pools and a welcome package for your dog, because they are welcome too.
