The ferry to the NDSM Wharf, that is. Because restaurant IJver is located in the former Shipbuilding Shed, next to the IJ-hallen. Not directly on the water, but on IJver's terrace you can catch a lovely breeze from the IJ. And to start with that terrace; they have a 400m² outdoor terrace (!!) and also a large heated indoor-outdoor terrace inside the shed itself. It’s perfectly possible, because it’s North Amsterdam. Right away, lots of plus points for the guys at IJver. On the outdoor terrace, you can also enjoy the unique graffiti art found all over the area. In addition to the terraces, you will also find a large restaurant inside, including a cool long bar. Even though it is a shed, it still looks cozy and intimate thanks to the different sections and a built-in extra floor. Upstairs you will find, among other things, the restrooms, spaces available for rent, and a mezzanine from where you can look out over the entire shed. The spaces are ideal for parties, birthdays, and corporate events. Although IJver knows perfectly well how to handle a party outside of that as well. Many items in the restaurant were made by artists who also work in the warehouse, such as the mosaic above the bar and the metal cutlery trays.

IJver has a distinct cuisine where charcoal BBQ and Hibachi BBQ (a Japanese grilling method) play a key role. On the seasonal menu, you will find starters such as steak tartare with crostini and mushrooms, and tuna crudo with radish and orange. For the main course, you can choose the sirloin or sea bass from the grill, for example. And, not from the grill, the ravioli. The fish is fresher than fresh, and the sirloin is cooked exactly how you like it. From innovative flavor combinations to comfort food and classics. Oh, and preferably homemade and made with top-quality ingredients. Just genuinely good food without any fuss. For dessert, you can choose from various sweets such as sticky toffee pudding (highly recommended!) or a cheese board. A fine beer suggestion is also provided for each dish. Having trouble choosing?
