A reservation at Ancestrale means party. At Ancestrale they are good at pampering people and serving as much flavor as possible with simple, pure dishes.

You can go to Acetrale for the chef's menu and we highly recommend it - this way you will be presented with the tastiest courses. The portions are all medium sized so you can really taste a bit of everything.

Once again you get here (as at several places) a delicious whipped buttermilk butter that ensures that your bread with dip is finished in no timee. They just keep refilling so don't worry about that. In addition, the small dishes are served one after the other - so you can enjoy a really quiet meal at Ancestrale.

In terms of wines, it is a big party - the sommelier will give appropriate advice on everything you like, especially natural wines. There has to be a big caveat because there are plenty of accessible wines that taste like a “normal” regular wine – you just have to point out what you like. There is also more than enough choice for orange wine lovers. So that is a party in itself.

At the front of the shop you have a few tables with a small, nice hidden space behind the kitchen / toilet. With a special peep window if you want to peek at the other side.

All dishes are locally prepared and at Ancestrale organic food is extremely important - so really fresh and good quality.

For dessert we were in for a little surprise – cheese (salty) with caramelized butter (sweet) and that combination was heavenly. We would do it.

The staff is extremely enthusiastic and that enthusiasm is certainly passed on to the guests, making it a very energetic and fun place every evening. Enjoy, at Ancestrale.
