Books and wine go well together. Before it became a wine and tapas bar, Pepa Bar a Vins a bookstore. On the shelves where there used to be rows of books, there are now rows of bottles of wine. When you sit at the back of the store, you can look straight into the open kitchen. At the front of the restaurant, the tables are lit by reading lamps. You probably won't read there, but it does create atmosphere. Just like the staff, who are at least as nice as the people in the average bookstore.

Panther Mambo is located in El Raval. Not the neighborhood you (as a woman) necessarily want to wander through alone in the evening, but fortunately the bar is close to the metro and you don't have to go deep into the neighborhood. The cocktails are great, the bartenders friendly, but especially the salsa lessons make this a party. Twice a week you can join lessons for beginners for a few euros (including a drink).
