Beach club Birds in Kijkduin
Of all those Dutch beach bars that we are so crazy about, have we ever talked about it? Kijkduin had? You know, the beach a stone's throw from The Hague where you can also find (among other things). The Hague Beach Houses finds? No? Shame! Because here, unlike in Scheveningen or Noordwijk, there is usually still some disturbance at the nicest, most relaxed beach bars in the country. No hassle, just the good of our own coast. So if you can catch the sun, do it here, at Beach Club Birds in Kijkduin. It will make you happy.
Do you remember the The Hague Beach Houses yet? Those great huts on the beach Kijkduin, the beach that is actually closer to The Hague, and secretly much more relaxed than Scheveningen? Just read: the The Hague Beach Houses.
We had to think about that when we realized that this summer there is another great address near the houses, namely Beach club Birds. A warm nest, and that's it. Category nothing to worry about, exactly as a beach bar should be and where everyone feels at home, from 0 to 99. But in an attractive guise! 0 to 99 is (usually, fortunately) not blind either. No no, we want to be able to look around us. That is absolutely possible in the case of Beach Club Birds. Just check out the mint green bar and the rattan (high) chairs. The place reminds us a bit of that Dutch beach bar that we have called our favorite for years: Club Sand in Castricum. And yes, that's quite a compliment.
For everyone and for all ages, relaxed and quieter than the well-known and somewhat hyped beach bars, yes, but that does not mean that Beach Club Birds does not have all the ingredients. No. There are acai bowls and cute low coffee tables with a flower on top. There is a delicious Green Vegan Coconut Curry and there are colorful, well-ordered breakfast bowls. There is carrot cake and, when appropriate, Catalan Mussels, our favorite. Oh, and the Portobello is also recommended.
Also nice, at least we think: dogs are allowed here (just like at Club Zand). Please keep a leash, be nice to your fellow guests.
