We. Love. Ericeira! The place where we stood on a surfboard for the first time (left us wanting more: @casa_quintas made us do it!) and where we thoroughly enjoyed the town and the amazing restaurants.
In this post, I've already included a small list, but there is more! Comment below asking for the link and I will send you the full guide (incl. the very best surf school).
Here in 'our beautiful Breda' there is still 1 week of vacation left and our kids finally saw their best friends/boyfriends again today (making half hearts was the thing here the whole vacation…).
We put them all back in the @urbanarrow today (they happy, we happy).
Part 3 of our mini-series: fun things in and near Breda to get through this last week of the holidays in tip-top condition (also great for South Holland, who still have 2 weeks left) and also fun in less sunny weather and (almost) everything is cargo bike-friendly from Breda city centre 🔆
* shopping for new school supplies at favorite @kloffies_koffies (no dumplings please🤪)
* picking flowers at @pluktuingewoonbuiten
* to @dierenparkdeoliemeulen (pedal a bit further, but a really great tip)
* getting ice cream and playing at @boerderijdegrens
* @pukkemukdongen (seems far but is less than half an hour by cargo bike!)
* Learn and observe at @reptielenhuisdeaarde
* Playing and eating pancakes at @dennenluchtbreda
Want more? Then you simply have to download the (free!) Bakfiets Gids via bartsboekje/shop.

Saved the best for second-to-last... The artists' village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence has been on my wishlist for years for two reasons (there isn't much else, but what there is is so worth it): La Colombe d'Or and Fondation Maeght.
A case of IYKYK (the private museum was one of the first museums for modern art in Europe and remains the leading one. It was founded by the Maeght couple, who exhibited work by many of their friends there. Matisse and Miró, for example). And in La Colombe d'Or (hotel and restaurant), numerous artists left their work behind: the dream. And no, it did not disappoint.
Perhaps even better: this was also the place where we found two gems of hotels and restaurants. So not the aforementioned ones. But definitely the surprise of the holiday.
Food and drink:
La Colombe d'Or (book months in advance during high season)
Le Remparts (in the village itself, very nice)
La Guinguette (must!)
Doing:
Maeght Foundation
Petanque on the square in Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Of course, no 'gatekeeping' here: please just comment under this post again to receive the links! Booked everything again (super last minute) via @bookingcom
Photo dump of a happy weekend. Vacation 'at home' in Amsterdam with nothing but favorites:
* the @artis.amsterdam Zoomer Nights (so so so fun! Artis is open on Saturday nights until sunset and there is live music, food, and nothing but nice people 🔆. Still throughout the entire month of August).
* We 🫶🏼 @lemmeke_eetcafe
Catched the parade, also the best part
Just keep messing around. You couldn't make me happier.
Et voila, part 2 of our South of France holiday. We went to Hyères (near Toulon) totally unprepared because I had found a nice hotel (at a good price) via Booking.com. A bullseye! We really enjoyed it and, moreover, it was remarkably quiet.
We booked yet another hotel (and I saved one for next time) with an amazing pool.
**All links and an extra tip: raise your hand below** (this time I already have everything ready and giving a heart is sweet).
Anyway: go (gagaga) by boat to Porquerolles - a South French holiday dream.
Food & Drink:
L'Escale Toulon (dinner)
Hôtel Restaurant Le Porquerollais (lunch)
Le Bar Du Soleil at Hôtel Le Provençal (lunch)
Ponta Plage (beach)
Coucou (beach)
Chez Lulu (dinner)
MER & Fils (drinks/dinner)
Doing:
Villa Noailles
Carmignac Foundation
So to Porquerolles by boat and rent bikes there)
To the market in Hyères on Saturday (so big!)
