boutique hotel Park Plaza Vondelpark in Amsterdam was given a brand new look
Boutique hotel Park Plaza Vondelpark Amsterdam has been completely renovated and how beautiful it has turned out. First the safety; Because they have only just opened, the hotel has been able to fully adapt to current safety requirements. The rooms are completely disinfected after each visit and there are special paper 'seals' around all cupboard doors so that you can be sure that no one has been there before you. Just a detail, but one that we think; your health is really taken into consideration here.
And then the specs why you definitely want to book a staycation here; the hotel is super child-proof! From travel cots to little things for the little ones in the room, a private garden where you can play (there is even a pond with fish. Mind you; in the middle of the city) and then there is the Vondelpark itself of course. You cross the street and go, you're already in the park. A few minutes later you are at café Het Groot Melkhuis, with a huge terrace on the water and an equally large playground. They are of course closed now, but it is possible to pick up a cup of coffee. A little further on you will find a public playground, including a homemade forest hut and several meters of swings. Enough for hours of entertainment, after which you can have lunch (or drinks) and shopping in the Cornelis Schuystraat.
Back to the hotel; the bed is gigantic and covered with Egyptian linen, the walk-in shower is wonderful (and big enough for two ;-). And the new design is cool; inspired by the many birds that the Vondelpark is home to. Last but not least; In the hotel you will find the Italian restaurant Tozi. Not just any Italian, not just any hotel restaurant. To be honest, we were really flabbergasted at how good the food and wine was and how pampered we were here. The house specialty is the 2-person tonnarelli 'Cacio e Pepe'; a huge Parmesan cheese the size of a swimming pool with hot pasta inside. The heat of the pasta melts the inside of the cheese. The pasta is served straight from the cheese to your table. Also really try; the buffalo ricotta ravioli with thinly cut slices of black truffle. And the zucchini fritti; crispy fried zucchini fries. Well, there's nothing wrong with the rest of the card either. We would have preferred to order everything. To be honest, it didn't make much difference. Fortunately we had walked quite a bit.
