Tastiest bakery in Amsterdam North: Broodbakkerij Ex

Another pearl that you really have to see before you understand its beauty, this time in Amsterdam North. North was initially a bit sad and sad (except for a handful of top players), well not anymore. North will be fun and, as far as we are concerned, it all starts with a good, traditional bakery. That's how it started the rise of Amsterdam North, with one in the meantime huge list of 'worth braving the pound' addresses, and it is now the place to be. On to North and on to Bakery Ex, where the bread is crispy and fresh waiting for you.

This now new favorite is located on the Waddenweg. And the Waddenweg is a little bit away from the always hip Skate cafe, Hangar, Golden pheasant… You know the list. If not? The more reason to visit the North. Okay, back to the story: the bakery is located in the middle of the residential area and you immediately feel that as soon as you step inside (in line!) and only locals around you who pick up their daily sandwich.
What do they have here? Simple; really good bread, eggs, tasty sandwiches (kimcheese! jam), sweets (delicious currant bun, bolus, and so on). Great if you stick to one order. They also have delicious wines, fresh eggs and even a cheese sandwich for when you have an urgent craving. Or why not have a slice of gingerbread while you wait, or for the return journey home?

You can also drink coffee there - if you take it with you to go. May we make another recommendation? The walnut bread; it makes every bite even better and spreading it with a knob of butter does enough. Simple does it!
