Coffee at its best at Confetti in The Hague
Oh oh The Hague Hofkwartier, you are so cute. Nice because the streets are narrow, the atmosphere is pleasant and the offer is diverse. Or well, diverse, by which we mean a nice balance between shopping and food. Because as far as the food itself is concerned, the offering is still a bit tame in The Hague. A bit much of the same. A bit of just act normal, then you're acting crazy enough, that idea. And that works, but sometimes (sometimes? often!) we just want that little bit extra. That treat yourself girl feeling.
And sure enough, a new lunchroom of that level has just opened. Named: Confetti. Subtitle: for a fun visit. And we would like to explain that. Owner Merel, only 26 years old – oh, what a fun time that was – knew what she wanted from an early age. A lunchroom. In the Hofkwartier. So she waited, learned and hatched her plan for years. Because her lunchroom? That should be a party. Merel wants to put a smile on your face. Hokus pocus pilates brownie with sprinkles. Something like that.
So Confetti is housed in a beautiful shop on Prinsestraat and both the interior and the menu are a treat. For interiors, think of pastel colors, glitter, disco balls and vintage. For the menu, think of breakfast parties such as homemade granola and lunches of warm goat cheese with grilled peach. And that's not all. Because you understand, a visit to Confetti should be a party, so we quickly move on to the pampering.
Toast with espresso butter, toast with peanut butter, fried banana and dark chocolate shavings or a brownie with ice cream for breakfast? Please. With sprinkles, because without sprinkles you can't have a party on your plate, duh. Then opt for the hot milk with Maltese and your lunch fissa will go wild.
Also nice: Confetti serves good coffee in addition to breakfast, lunch, drinks and lots of cake. Roasted by Merel's friend and therefore extra tasty. Level specialty bar. Oh, and there are newspapers! So do you want to escape the house, read, have a good cup of coffee and a pastry on the side? The party is at Confetti.
