TheFork introduces: culinary staycations at the nicest hotel restaurants throughout the Netherlands
Our very best restaurant reservation website TheFork (we honestly use TheFork as standard if we want a table somewhere last minute, a really great tip for Amsterdam that is always fully booked!) went to investigate... Because: 'what do we miss the most in these rather special times?'
Guess what? Going out together, of course. And preferably while enjoying a snack and a drink. Not that surprising perhaps, but what is good news is that TheFork, following that science, came up with a new concept to (after all) respond to that need. This cuts both ways: the catering sector support is an important bycatch.
The subject? Culinary staycations throughout the country. From getting a breath of fresh air on the beach to visiting the nicest cities in the country - the choice is enormous. Idea: also very nice to give as a gift for a weekend or midweek during the holidays!
Here it comes: a list of the top 15 Culinary Hotel Packages.
A little bit proud and Holland-loving as we are, we secretly find it a little more fun that a relatively small Amsterdam club, Vondel Hotels, this hotel sign called Hotel Mercier opened. Hidden in the nicest street in the Jordaan Café Ons Huis at the Mercier hotel. The restaurant's chef is known for the culinary twist he gives to the Dutch pot. At Mercier in Amsterdam you are welcomed by a cozy flower paradise on the right, you bump up against the grotesque staircase (decorated with Claes Iversen rugs in enormous frames - beautiful) and around the corner you will find the sympathetic little standing reception. All beautiful, already. The party is already starting behind the French doors. That's where the bar is. Exactly how a hotel bar should be, salmon pink seats, a checkered floor versus a gray herringbone, there is more: behind the French doors under the enormous neon letter is the restaurant. You can recognize it by the unicorn in the middle of the room. The restaurant is also like that picture-perfect.

Vegetables first! Chief Chris Naylor likes to experiment with vegetables and he often picks them from his own roof garden, but you can also go to Amsterdam's Vermeer for special fish and meat dishes. Want to soak up history? Then you join in posthoorn. A chic hotel and restaurant in two 17th-century buildings. And has been a household name since 1881 foodies, locally and internationally. At the helm of the charming Hotel-Restaurant De Nederlanden* is a star chef Wilco Berends, best known for its signature oyster tasting. NOM! In addition to the restaurant, De Nederlanden also has 11 beautifully furnished hotel rooms and a suite. Wilco's wife Caroline was mainly involved in the furnishing of the rooms and is truly a textbook hostess.
Reservation? We get it. A culinary hotel package is 217,50 euros per person. What can you expect then? An 8-course dinner, overnight stay and a breakfast that will delight you.
Hotel and restaurant Hektor. A weekend away, but no inspiration? Why not get a breath of fresh air in Zierikzee? Developed especially for TheFork hotel and restaurant Hektor namely a breath-taking 3-course menu, an overnight stay and breakfast for €70 per person. go go go and let yourself be pampered.
We don't have any sunny holidays planned for the time being, so we think a weekend trip to the Dutch coast would be a good idea. How about a staycation at a hotel & restaurant Villa de Duinen. First a long walk on the beach and then dinner. The package is €167,50 per person. Pure sea villa hotel & fish gastronomy. Want a romantic getaway in Wijk aan Zee? A staycation including a (fish gastronomic) dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in bed? You will find a restaurant in the city of Rotterdam The Millen from chef and owner Wim Severein. The Millèn is located in the Millennium Tower, on the first floor of the Rotterdam Marriott Hotel. The restaurant is the right mix between modern and industrial. A nice staycation here too. For €175 per person including a glass of champagne upon reception. Cheers. Then sit down for a 6-course chef's menu, followed by coffee and friandises. The next day you can start quietly with breakfast in your room.

Formerly a tram depot and now Hotel de Hallen, the 4-star boutique hotel is a creative spot of it Amsterdam West. Remise47 has an International kitchen with a French bistro appearance. Book a Culinary Hotel Package from €60 per person and a short break here. Because people, 60 euros is really very little for all this. Restaurant Hemingway, Bergen op Zoom. It is not without reason that this restaurant was promoted by the people of the Michelin guide, Hemingway in Bergen it just says so. Why this name? The restaurant is named after Ernest Hemingway, writer and bon vivant. Chief Torben Bouterse draws its inspiration from local products from the Bergen op Zoom area.
