The nicest addresses in Amsterdam East

I have no idea about you, but every now and then we have to look carefully among all the nice addresses in our already so nice Amsterdam. A good idea, did we think? Just a list per wind direction! That looks so easy.

We already did that for Amsterdam Noord (which turned out to be quite a laundry list), you can read that here. And now we're doing it again for Amsterdam East. Also.

4850

Perfect coffee, perfect cinnamon rolls, perfect (natural) wines, perfect service. Are we fans of the small and very friendly 4850 in Amsterdam East? Really!

Coffee Bru

Coffee Bru

With coffee from Rumbaba (local coffee roaster from East) and Monkey chief tea This is and remains one of the finest coffee shops in East, with the tastiest coffee and most delicious treats. No hip stuff, but quality in an uncomplicated atmosphere. With top service, all of whom love making and serving good coffee. Recommended!

Bar & Restaurant De Kop van Oost

Bar & Restaurant De Kop van Oost

Sun coming? Then you have to run to the terrace The Kop Van Oost. Although you can also feel completely comfortable inside. A popular place and we immediately understand why. The Kop van Oost is located at the head of the Zeeburgerpad (aha, hence the name). And there you have a wonderful view over the water, the Het IJ Brewery and the mill.

Inside it looks wonderfully spacious (nice, because there is also plenty of seating). For the menu you can choose from a la carte or the Tasting Menu. For the latter we say do it! The chef then makes the choice, resulting in a freshly changing menu with seasonal products and as many local products as possible. This is served as a 3 or 4 course menu.

It is also a favorite when a number of favorites are located in one square street. You should just cross over to the Czaar Peterstraat. And then first read this list: the best of the Czaar Peterstraat

The Lobby Fizeaustraat

The Lobby Fizeaustraat

Almost every review about the third member of the Hotel-V family starts with 'near the Amstel Station'. That's not a lie, but let's be honest: it's quite far away from everything. Whoever overcomes that small obstacle is in for a treat. First of all, the hotel is beautiful. Wonderful rooms, decent prices and staff who are looking forward to it or will ignore you if you don't feel like it. In addition, the lobby - the restaurant with the same name as the one at the nes - is a party. read more

merkelbach

merkelbach

House Frankendael: deep in Amsterdam East and whoever drives past probably thinks: nah, not today. Or: nice to get married. Missed opportunity! Just do it, walk into that fantastic building - probably one of the most beautiful in the city - where not so long ago a family lived and where a young chef is now in charge. restaurant Merkelbach stirs. That young chef put together a fresh seasonal menu with original dishes (jubel o jubel) and ditto wines (e.g. a pear cider, not wine, but very tasty).

Bar Bukowski

Bar Bukowski

Always a great place for Friday afternoon drinks. Beer & nachos galore at the green corner Bar Bukowski hot.

Ice cream? Massimo!

Grab immediately our laundry list of favorite ice cream parlors throughout the city and outside the city. And thank us later.

Café Cliché

Café Cliché

Café Cliché, the subject of discussion, is not at all cliché. No polished stuff for a moment, no starched tablecloths, no ge-U for a while, no rules for a while. No, at Café Cliché it is time for you and you, a picnic and classics on your plate, Schutte style (just a little bit different and above all very tasty), to choose from a menu with pictures in plastic. Love.

Foer

Foer

When chefs who have worked at places like Amsterdam favorite Rijssel, uber-favorite Chambre Séparée in Ghent (but really! Go), Firma Brine herring and the Danish Restaurant Kadeau (two stars, we joined just before they had 1 star and thought it was a bit complicated at the time, that is completely beside the point of course and probably says something about ourselves), you know that: this restaurant is great. Include a cool, industrial location Amsterdam Oost at and you make news, hot news. Bee Restaurant Foer, located in a detached building (space! terrace!), a large part of the menu is foraged, so what nature has available ends up on your plate.

Thúskomme

Thúskomme

We like to come to the Batjanstraat for the Frisian boys from Thúskomme. Or, oh, for what comes out of their hands: the tastiest bites with home-grown ingredients. Jules, Joost and Jurjen from Thúskomme make all those tasty treats with Dutch products and star ingredients from Friesland, such as Grutte Pier beers, sugar bread and various cheeses. And they are – rightly – proud of that. Good food, relaxed sitting. To go.

Bathhouse

Bathhouse

Create a new kid on the block. Fresh from the press, and completely fresh and fruity. Bathhouse has been since early March ready to rumble. With the desire to maintain the ideology of the building (you can probably guess), the Badhuis is extremely suitable as a meeting place. Where it starts with a cup of coffee in the morning, as the day progresses the Badhuis will split into a restaurant and a bar. For the dancers and for the gourmets among us. A place, something for everyone. And when the sun shines? Then everyone is welcome on the large terrace on the Javaplein. That is something to enjoy.
