Book now for next summer: Finca Les Coves Spain (Costa Blanca)

[update, September 2024: Finca Les Coves Spain has new owners and unfortunately things are no longer as we experienced them. No longer recommended]

I never used to understand why people booked their summer holidays a year in advance... Isn't that what you're doing at all?! And then you have a little one of your own, even fewer hours in the day (or so it seems) and it is suddenly damn important that everything is sorted out early. Look, and that's why we're already recommending this to you (and will probably raise it again when the time comes): to book now for next summer: Finca Les Coves in Spain, on the Costa Blanca. Because before you know it, the glamping plus accommodation promotions will be sold out again.

Finca les Coves

Finca les Coves

Les Coves Estate So, a Glamping in the Spanish interior, not far from Alicante (you fly there) and the typical colorful coastal towns of Villajoyosa, run by the Dutch Anna and Cees. Glamping, because that is what it originally is: a glamping, is a paradise and small-scale resort on an estate of approximately eighty hectares in the interior of the Costa Blanca. There are safari tents for back to basics camping. Well… Actually it's just back to basics because there is no WiFi (but everywhere else on the site). The tent has a double bed and two single beds, a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink and a kitchenette, and of course all the facilities on site: there is even a small gym (which you only want to 'get into' sooner or later as the equipment is in full sun).

With that one safari tents It all started at the rear of the lovely swimming pool, near the main house where Anna and Cees (and their 'workaway-ers', holidaymakers who work for a certain period for board and lodging) live. But the crew of Finca les Coves certainly did not sit still: they came up with a place to stay in a cave, the nicest place to stay for families, after all. And there were two very nice 'houses', which actually have nothing to do with camping anymore. The triangular houses (there are two) are fully (and tastefully!) furnished and have a breathtaking view.

You look out over it from your own veranda Finca les Coves estate while the skewers are simmering on the BBQ and the setting sun slowly turns the sky pink. Bringing kids? Good idea. They are either in a baby bed (which can be prepared for you) in your lovely, spacious room or in the mezzanine one floor higher: paradise for slightly larger offspring (how nice is it to watch daddy(s) from your bed). and/or mother(s) to coo and build your sleeping hut in your own room?!).

During high season, vegetarian & vegan meals are served several times a week. Veggie burgers with sweet potato fries, for example, Mexican tacos and tortillas or an extensive tapas and sangria menu, most of it from their own vegetable garden. You just have to sign up for it, in the morning for example, when the lovely owners bring you a smoothie (so so so delicious! fresh every morning and always different).

Ecoglamping, to get back to that: the energy at Finca les Coves is generated with solar panels, there is no chlorine but salt in the swimming pool and water is used sparingly. And furthermore, the Finca is one for 'nothing for now', apart from reading books, playing games, swimming in nature (at El Salt, a twenty-meter high waterfall, river and a clear blue rock pool), hiking (mountain range La Carasquetta is literally in the backyard), horse riding (there is a private arena) and cycling. Alicante is a thirty-minute drive away and you can reach the beach of El Campelle in twenty minutes. And then drink cocktails at the pool bar.
