Greens, not a 'greenie' (but highly recommended) in the greenest part of The Hague
We think one of the nicest things about outings in our own country is that things don't have to be rushed. Because hey, we're going again next week, right?! No, we have to, we have to, but we take a relaxed walk. For that reason we like to visit a park, rain or shine. Every now and then we like to crash in Scheveningen's Westbroekpark at De Waterkant. Or do we alternate that nice spot with this one in the same park: Greens, a restaurant that is a bit reminiscent of our other favorite Country estate Plantation Vogelenzang. At the beginning of the beautiful and enormous Westbroek is the beautifully decorated greenhouse where you can choose a healthy, green organic choice from the small menu. Or the homemade apple pie of course...
Open all year round and here it is possible to take shelter from the (Dutch) weather. Because here you are safe from any shower in the impressive glass greenhouse. Greens is a combination of an organic restaurant and an edible garden, including a care vegetable garden. Care vegetable garden? Yes, part of the Greens garden has been set up as a care vegetable garden, which is maintained by people who are at a distance from the labor market.
So all green at Greens (duh), and you can see that on the map. The menu is based on the garden harvest. Organic restaurant goat wool socks? No! This produces colorful dishes with edible flowers on your plate. Sandwiches with pulled pork or grilled eggplant, but also a savory pie or homemade soup. Inclusive matching organic wines. Plus children's pasta for the little ones, who have plenty of room to play. And when the sun breaks through again, you can stroll through the green garden. Plenty of space and plenty to discover. Beautiful place to get married, also an option at Greens. Stroll them!
