The organizers of Into The Great Wide Open will celebrate summer this weekend with the Here Comes The Summer festival. Traditionally on Vlieland in the first weekend of May and a lot more intimate than in September. Lots of music, good food, a party in De Bolder and, if all goes well, a lot of sun. And also lots of children's art! With the men of Hotmamahot you can transform yourself into your favorite island animal and in the sports hall you can go wild during monkey cage gym. Have you ever heard a potato sing? During Here Comes the Summer the premiere of a real potato choir concert takes place. You can also study creatures with Ecobits, fresh fish is made and there is the Vlie Music Track Download Machine, a wonderful machine that you help build and record the sounds on the island. Here Comes The Summer will also provide a preview of the new Teenage Kicks Junior program: selected young musicians aged 12 to 16 will be coached during the festival by one of the acts performing at the festival.
