Hotel, wedding location and shoots: Fabriken Furillen in Gotland, Sweden
We are not entirely sure whether we would recommend Fabriken Furillen as a hotel, wedding location or for shoots, but it is more than certain that it deserves a place here. A former limestone refinery is located on a remote peninsula on the Swedish island of Gotland Factories Furillen. That sounds quiet, industrial and in contact with the natural elements. And that is exactly what this special place looks like. Full of Swedish warmth and The setting is appealing, comfortable and welcoming and has earned its own name among the Danes: hygge., that's for sure.
This is the dream: by boat to the Swedish island of Gotland and spend a few nights there at Fabriken Furillen. This location is well known for fashion shoots, very special for a wedding and can also be booked simply to sleep for a night - or more. The summer season at Fabriken Furillen is short. You can sleep at this special hotel from early July to early August. With some hotel rooms – with Hästens beds – and some even more remote 'hermit cabins' you have to be a bit lucky to find a spot.
Once inside Furillen, the cold, hard outside environment is exchanged for a dose of Swedish friendliness. The contrasts between the concrete environment, the rich Swedish nature, the cool tones and the warm interiors is what makes Furillen so special. Bicycles can be borrowed to explore nature, you can enjoy delicious dishes in the restaurant and you will spend days exploring and enjoying yourself. And you can expect that a stay at this place will stay with you forever.
