8 x Archipelago Sweden (Stockholm)

When there is travelling, and that happens whenever possible, it is wonderful to behave, every now and then, like a local. How? In your 'own' apartment or house, of course. Shopping and cooking yourself. Stand up and shamelessly throw your underwear into the corner. That. It is possible, everyone knows that now, with Airbnb. Here on your Bart's Booklet more than enough tips to Stockholm (en more: the Archipelago) to explore and just as many tips regarding the nicest hotels but (BUT!), we also have a few things for you Airbnbs listed - it also saves searching on the interweb. What kind of list? With those guest houses to dream away and where you would prefer to move in straight away. Perhaps not all of them are as chic, as large, as luxurious or as ready-made, but all of them are apartments that can be added to the like-a-local wish list. And, so come along like a local goes completely according to plan: choose the most beautiful island. Voila, 8 x stays in the Stockholm Archipelago:

Barts-Booklet-Tyresö

Tyresö, max. 2 persons
Forget England, the Swedish countryside is chock full of the ultimate little ones cozy cottages. This is also the case on the mini-island Tyresö, where there is plenty to do: swimming, walking... And more of that kind. Furthermore, it is real, as the cottage is also described, country charm to the maxAirbnb #2: Tyresö: max. 2 people

Vättersö, max. 3 persons
Staying on a small island near Stockholm is something different from staying in the city. There are no fewer than 24.000-plus islands and they are all so quiet and serene that it is questionable whether you would ever want to visit the city again. There are - in general and certainly in the case of this one on the island of Vättersö - no cars, no supermarkets and no large well-known chains. None of that. What there is is peace. The activities? Picking blueberries or raspberries, in the sauna, boating, canoeing, doing nothing. Delicious. This Airbnb is highly recommended for those who are dating. Maybe it's not like staying the night you're used to: there is no tap in the house to begin with - it's literally a matter of fetching two buckets of water. The shower is in the boathouse and the toilet is in a separate house and it is (oh dear!) a dry toilet. Hosts Ulrich and Eva have managed to make it look very nice, so it's not really a big deal. You get used to everything, even a dry toilet. The house is offered for three, but that is actually a bit too small. Two is perfect. Airbnb #1: Vättersö, max. 3 people

Barts-Boekje- airbnb sweden

Saxarfjärden, max. 5 people
Talk doesn't fill holes, but in this case pictures say more than talk (okay... It's late...). Anyway, take a look! This! The black architect-built building is located on a lake with crystal clear water and unlike most Swedish huts on this list, the inside is exactly what you expect from a Swedish country house: clean, white and just cool. The island is not that remote and quiet and you can easily look into the huts of the neighbors on the other side of the lake, but to be honest we find it very cozy. Moreover, this is one in the 'showing off' category and it is nice that someone actually likes you. Recovery: jumping into the lake from the grayed private deck that was built on the rocks next to the house. Airbnb Saxarfjarden, max 5 people

airbnb3sweden

Dalarö, max. 4 persons
Not the cheapest, let's start with that, but one of the most beautiful. When we think about Sweden and how stylish the Swedes can be, then this Airbnb proves that again. Pure relaxation in this beautiful house and the host is also happy to help with a pick-up by boat. Handy in those remote places. Airbnb #3: Dalarö, max. 4 people

Österåker Municipality, max 6. persons
Surprisingly, most cozy cottages are for no more than 2 or 3 people, sometimes, exceptionally, for four. But what if you want to go with the whole family? Then you drive a little further, an hour from the center of Stockholm, and check into a white country house on stilts that can accommodate 6 people comfortably. Here too, there is a lake within walking distance, where you can ride horses, go fishing, and more. Or else you can just all gather around the wood-burning stove next to the large open kitchen. Österåker Municipality

Barts-Boekje- writers hut Sweden

Lidingö, max. 2 persons
For everyone with writing ambitions! On to the small, remote Lidingö. The idyllic place, with a lake almost on the doorstep and nothing else, except for a nice host, is perfect for writing, say, the next best-selling novel. The nature is, as expected, beautiful, if you need inspiration and the WiFi works surprisingly (and thankfully) very fast and well. Airbnb #4: Lidingö, max. 2 people

Blöd, Stockholms län, max. 4 persons
We are ridiculously addicted to everything that comes in blue and white, especially if that blue and white is wrapped by a cute red house. Voila, this airbnb on Blidö in Stockholm County does it. That's fun anyway, the island of Blidö: it is one of the most popular islands in the area (also pleasant) and you can easily get there from Stockholm by boat, bus or car. Bathroom and dry toilet are again separate next to the hut on the private property. Blidö, Stockholm County

Värmdö, max. 3 persons
This Airbnb could easily be included in a holiday program on RTL Travel. The red house transcends everything. Uber-Swedish in looks and the Airbnb reviews leave nothing to be desired. Please note: there is a dry toilet again, so it takes some getting used to and is always nice to know in advance. Airbnb #5: Värmdö, max. 3 people

Tip:: how to get to all those islands? Check this website for when the ferry leaves. Good to know: tickets can only be purchased on board plus, at the Stromkajen ferry stop in Stockholm, there are also lockers for your suitcase. Handy in case you have to wait a while for your boat. They don't go very often...
