Barracks It is itself (perhaps you guessed it?) a former gendarmerie barracks from 1825, but is now a renovated monument and a venue for design, exhibitions, a restaurant, a hotel, and now, a café.

The interior of ByDay is designed by the Eindhoven duo Daphna Laurens and consists of the colors butter yellow, mint blue, and warm tones that literally bring the sun inside. The furniture is also Dutch design: beechwood chairs by DUM Office, egg yolk-yellow tables by the designers themselves and lamps by Dutch LightEverything exudes simplicity and Happiness from.

The menu features eggs benedict, airy pinsas, pancakes, and good coffee. At 17 pm, the café closes and the restaurant (the industrial counterpart) opens for dinner.

Even better: the café has a quiet, sunny courtyard, and the Kazerne exhibitions are free for everyone to attend. The revenue from the café and restaurant helps fund these exhibitions and new projects. A perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of Eindhoven design while enjoying your coffee or lunch.
