One of those places Dublin has been coming back to for years. Tucked away in an old warehouse, you’ll find The Fumbally: an open, bright spot for good coffee, breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Don’t forget the small shop, which is filled with lovely products from local farmers to take home.

For a quick coffee, a sandwich, or a glass of wine, pull up a chair at Dollars. It is a deli-style wine bar where espressos, pastries, and generously filled sandwiches are served during the day, while charcuterie, toasted sandwiches, and natural wine take center stage in the evening. Dollars is located in the Hoxton, which is a pleasant stop in any case.

The bakery where Dubliners queue up early. Now with two locations, but the recipe has remained the same: amazing sourdough bread, buttery viennoiserie, and an ever-changing display case full of seasonal tarts. No standard croissant, but quirky creations like a Guinness pie, maritozzi, or chocolate-miso choux. The coffee is from Cloudpicker and at least as good as the baked goods. Go early: sold out is the rule rather than the exception here.

Two addresses, one owner, and they practically belong together. Two Pups Coffee has its own in-house bakery, Bold Boy Bakery. Two Pups Coffee is one of Dublin's finest coffee shops, where the coffee is strong enough to help you recover. The bakery, Bold Boy, is known for its quirky creations: alongside perfect sourdough loaves, buttery croissants, and delicious sausage rolls, you'll find changing surprises like a Guinness Croffin. A winning combination, indeed.

Crazy about books, crazy about bookstores, and even crazier about bookstores with a café? Then you simply *must* visit Books Upstairs. Dublin's oldest independent bookstore is a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Above the shop, you'll find a small café where you can easily retreat for a few hours with a good book and a cup of coffee. Is it raining? All the better. There are worse places to sit out a typical Irish downpour.
