Finally a really nice hotel in Rome: The Hoxton opens in the Italian city of charm
Just have to wait a little longer, but it's coming: The Hoxton will open its first Italian branch on May 10, 2021 in Rome. To be honest, we were quite excited about that. Yes, we think Rome is a beautiful, impressive city, but sometimes too touristy and therefore not always inspiring. But we usually dropped out in the are-we-or-are-we-not booking process due to the lack of great places to stay (on the beautiful Villa Spalletti after). Either it is beautiful, but very expensive, or it is just not there. And now a handsome, young, contemporary and affordable place to stay has been added: Hello, Hoxton Rome!
The Hoxton Rome will be the brand's tenth hotel and sixth opening in Europe. There will be 192 rooms, a coffee bar and take-away counter, a large, bright restaurant and a beautiful terrace – exactly the ingredients why we love The Hox so much (may we say). Where will the hotel be located? That is also, as you would expect from the Hoxonners, on one spot-on location: in Parioli, a green neighborhood just north of the center and just outside the (far too) touristy area of the city. In the area you will find the most beautiful museums, nicest restaurants and traditional trattorias (the real ones). Villa Borghese, Rome's most popular park, is next door.
The hotel is an existing building, Italian classic style, which has been renovated in recent months into an oh-so-recognizable Hoxton hotel. The 70s, based on the style of the building and the rich local architecture of the 'Eternal City', predominates.
And furthermore, seating areas everywhere, rustic parquet floors, bold colors and local art and design everywhere – well, exactly what you expect from The Hoxton (and a little more, but that is also expected). The opening of The Hoxton, Rome follows openings of The Hoxton in Chicago, Southwark London and Downtown LA (we want to go there next!)
