Where do we work out in Lisbon? Our favorite gyms listed

Working out in Lisbon? Do it. Because besides hiking up endless hills, testing pastel de natas, and pretending a climb to Príncipe Real counts as leg day, the city is full of great places to really train. From beautiful, bright Pilates studios you’ll want to visit almost for the interior alone, to quiet yoga spots, boutique gyms, and high-end strength clubs where strength training, recovery, and longevity come together. We’ve lined up our favorite gyms in Lisbon for you.

Aimara Studio

Aimara Studio

The most beautiful corporate shop gym you can imagine in Lisbon: Aimara StudioIt is a longevity gym, with a strong balance between rest and recoveryFirst of all, the gym is top-notch. Additionally, the classes are not your usual: think of calisthenics, gyrokinesis, conscious strength, VO2 max, ice & breath, primal moves, all kinds of yoga and so on. The idea is that the lessons mindful Start by focusing on breathing and stretching, and finish in the same way. Afterwards, you can sweat it out in the huge sauna, and for those who dare, alternate this with the ice bath. At the front of the gym, there is a lovely juice bar where you can order all kinds of healthy, protein-rich snacks and smoothies. A member at Aimara? Watch out, because it might just become your second home.

Prescription Pilates

Prescription Pilates

Prescription Pilates In Lisbon, Reformer takes Pilates to the next level. Not only are the studios beautiful—they have three locations in the city, to boot—the classes are also really nice and intense. You start with 10 minutes of trampolining to warm up properly (as if all those hills in Lisbon weren't enough!). Then it's time for legs, core, and arms: the signature Prescription class.

In addition to these more intensive sessions, there are also special beginner classes, pre- and postnatal classes, and recovery classes for those who prefer to take things a bit easier. And last but not least: keep an eye on social media for the mat Pilates class on the beach. A lovely start to your Saturday morning. By the way, you can sign up for the academy at Prescription if you want to become a Pilates instructor yourself. Yes, we like Prescription!

Core Collective

Core Collective

At Core Collective Train your mat pilates (and no – not your usual mat pilates, but extra heavy with all sorts of interesting props) or reformer pilates on a Megaformer. They offer beginner classes, and if you are already somewhat experienced, this is truly the studio to get physically challenged.

The classes get off to a nice, brisk start, there is little rest in between, and after the class you really feel like you’ve worked incredibly hard. We love it. The gym is also immaculate. Before your class, you can take a seat in the winter lounge, where you feel anything but like you are in a busy city. The studio is located extremely centrally, and the machines are all brand new. A membership isn't cheap, but it is definitely worth the investment.

The Kynd Space

The Kynd Space

The Kynd SpaceAs the name suggests, this studio is KYND in every sense of the word. Starting with the warm welcome from the staff, the beautiful interior with soft pink tones, the inclusivity – everyone is welcome – and the classes ranging from more relaxed to strong & sweaty. So choose your mood. You can also take wonderful yoga classes here. And after your class, you might even draw a beautiful intention card to help you continue your day with a beautiful intention. Ooooh, and they just opened a beautiful second location in Anjos, alongside their first location in Príncipe Real.
