Little Escapes: The little paradise Easterein
It is quite a stretch of zigzagging through the Frisian farmlands and just when you think: it can never be here, can it?, there is a tiny sign on the roadside that The Little Paradise reads. That's where you should go for a unique 'piece' of Friesland, or even a unique part of the Netherlands. A colorful holiday celebration in our own country, and not just fun for children.
So still good. That Little Paradise is exactly that and is a hit, especially in the summer months, for a romantic weekend in nature. There are tree houses surrounded by chickens and geese, there are yurts on the forecourt and there is a more than comfortable new highlight: the red 'church', prepared for the coldest nights of the year.
It really doesn't get more romantic than this, and while tree houses, yurts and 'in the middle of the vast nothingness' may be particularly appealing to families, the opposite is (also) true: Het Kleine Paradijs is happy to welcome the little ones during the holidays, but outside of that they would just as soon (even rather) focus on those seeking peace and quiet. Nature lovers. Readers (read: anyone who wants to retreat with a book). That's what Het Kleine paradijs is perfect for.
Mind you: tree houses, swings, churches, nature – that sounds like a children's paradise, doesn't it? Nothing could be further from the truth: Het Kleine Paradijs sells itself as an address for those seeking peace and quiet. For guests who want to enjoy nature, silence, retreats and authentic accommodation options.
You can now even use a wood-fired outdoor sauna. Please bring a large bath towel, bath slippers and a bathrobe! Costs for 2 hours are €15. Booking in advance is advisable.
And so you are close to all the fun that Friesland has to offer. More Friesland? Do we have and you can read it here
