New: Arriba Arriba Amsterdam
Arriba, arriba! Andale, Andale! Now we immediately think of Speedy Gonzales – you know, the fast one Mexican mouse. That's a good thing because it's fast, colorful Mexican is right in the foreground of the newly opened building Arriba Arriba on the Amsterdam Rozengracht. In the building where matzo fed up. Well, yes, because Mazzo is no more. But fortunately, when a door closes, a window swings open. Arriba Arriba is – in case you didn't know by now – Mexican street food hang-out with South American influences.
Opened by the people behind Mazzo and Happyhappyjoyjoy this is the youngest member of the bunch. With a shop styled down to the last detail - bright colours, cacti and even ceiling fans - More South American it's not going to happen - imagine it really Mexico. You will find everything in these areas on the map; quesadillas with melted cheese and chicken, tacos with beef and salsa verde, tostadas with shrimp (recommended!). Everything with one spicy twist.

And of course we can't forget the guacamole. Butrrr…. It's not traditional. No, bee Arriba Arriba they serve it with avocado, apple, sweet onion, pineapple and pomegranate. To our taste, we just miss that nice, big one garlicky taste. It's a bit cowardly, this version. But that may depend on our preference. And further? Everything else delicious.
Think of something Mexican and it's on the map. And indeed, that also means the margaritas, and boy they are good. Yes, those margaritas, we'll be back for that. To have the feeling that you are in Mexico are. Just opened, Arriba Arriba!
