On a culinary world trip in your own country at restaurant Nomads in Amsterdam
Ok, a little disclaimer: entering the restaurant Nomads is entirely at your own risk. There is a good chance that you will go in for dinner (or lunch) and leave the building with a plane ticket. How? Nomads in Amsterdam can also be called a traveling world kitchen. Twice a year the staff travels to foodie hotspots somewhere (far) outside the Netherlands. There they browse local markets, attend cooking workshops, look for special products and taste every authentic dish. Inspiration check, then they return to Amsterdam East and present the dishes with their own twist. Nice for those holiday vibes in your own country.
The country you travel to when you go to Nomads may therefore differ. We went for a little while Singapore. In collaboration with Singapore Airlines and Singapore Tourism Board, they will serve a Singaporean menu in 2022. And we're done, we want to go to Nomads for the delicious dishes, the famous Chili Crab, Laksa (curry) or Bak Kut Teh (Porky) and not to forget the good cocktails. But we are also interested in booking that plane ticket to Singapore. The menu shows that so many different cultures come together in Singapore. And so many different cultures also means so many different cuisines.
On Friday, Saturday or Sunday, Nomads starts nice and early with the option of having lunch. You can also go to Singapore during the day, but you can also choose NOMADS classics from the lunch menu.
During dinner you have to sit down and enjoy it. In the evening, the chef will take you on a journey through the culinary highlights of Singapore. You can have that experience in 4 courses, 5 courses or 6 courses and including or excluding drinks. Whatever you do, consider the Singapore Sling cocktail.
