Suddenly, those glasses of wine being poured become a lot more interesting. So, off to a wine tasting! Fun for the acquaintance and a fun thing to do with family or as a gift for friends. Small, intimate wine bars are popping up everywhere in Amsterdam, and the trend shows no signs of slowing down. We're not complaining, especially if everything is perfect. Okay, these certainly aren't all places where you can hold a wine tasting, but you can often request one if you're traveling with a large group! And if you ask us, Bottleshop in Amsterdam East is the place to be for natural wine lovers.

Gotta Love Hotel De L'Europa. We find everything about it beautiful, crazy, and delightful, and above all, gorgeous. And delicious, too. And of course, the hotel's wine cellar is proportional: how else could you supply two bars and three restaurants (one of which has a Michelin star, Restaurant Flore) with wine? Exactly. And you can also enjoy a wine tasting at De L'Europe. Count us in. More natural wine, anyone? We get it: you hate it or you love it. And honestly, in both cases you are in the right place at Cocorico: this is where you get your wine tasting Slash mini course in Cocorico warehouse in Amsterdam East, from a really enthusiastic and fun guy who can tell you all about it. So even if you don't like it, you might be (a little) convinced afterward.
Okay, okay, okay… This one might be a bit too, uh, hip for the average Dutch person (read: no classic wines, everything funky and exciting), but certainly if it's not your thing, first rodeo A truly fun and original option is a private tasting for groups at the Amsterdam Chenin Chenin store. They'll guide you through a diverse selection of natural wines from across Europe, including an informative discussion about the processes and stories behind the wines you taste. How long does it take? Approximately 2 to 2,5 hours. You'll also receive cheeses/charcuterie and bread. How many guests? 4 to a maximum of 8 guests. Cost? €65 per person.
We kick off with Chateau Amsterdam. Chateau is the first Urban Winery of the Netherlands and the largest in Europe, that bodes well. Chateau's wines are made in the city with grapes from farmers throughout Europe. They have three types of wines: Fathers, Sons and Grandsons. The Fathers are classic wines, the Sons surprising ones blends and the Grandsons are everyone's friend. During the typing you will learn everything from grape to bottle and the farmers where the grapes come from. Seven wines are discussed, which are a variation of the Fathers, Sons and Grandsons. Not unimportant are the bites which you can order from the bar menu during the tasting, because it will certainly make you hungry. The tasting costs about 30 euros per person.
Wine shop Bob can be found on the Elandsgracht. Bob's mission is to make Dutch wines broader and more accessible. All wine comes from grapes that grow on our own soil, yes really, we also have delicious wines from our cold little country! During the tasting you will be taken to various wine growers in the Netherlands and you will of course get to taste different wines that come from Dutch soil. In addition to the seven wines, there are also a number bites. All this costs about 42,50 euros and takes about an hour and a half. (It may be called Bob, but of course it is not the intention that a Bob comes to the tasting, just saying).
You will find Restaurant in the middle of the Nieuwmarkt The Waag. The restaurant is located in the monumental Waaggebouw, which was built between 1425 and 1488 as a city gate. In addition to getting a taste of history through the building, you can also settle down for a drink high wine. You can book this high wine with three, four or five matching dishes (and therefore wines). You can also choose from tasting glasses or full glasses. For the three wines and three dishes you pay 34 euros for the tasting glasses and 40 euros for the full glasses.
Voted the best wine bar in the Netherlands, that promises something. The Fitting room offers a wine tasting for four people or more, where you will taste eight wines. They explain everything to you: how to taste, different grape varieties are discussed and your knowledge is tested at the end of the tasting with a blind tasting test. The tasting lasts about an hour and a half and costs 34,50 euros. You can also opt for a tasting with matching dishes for 54,50 euros. Either way, you're in for a treat at the Fitting Room.
You will find a wine bar right in the heart of Pijp, which we love so much Paul. There is a homely atmosphere, you can easily join us. And also it winetasting menu is very accessible. You can largely complete the tasting yourself, you choose which color wine you want to drink and Paul then chooses a number of beautiful bottles. There are various choices for snacks, such as cheese boards, Paul's luxury bowl, bread with dip, nuts and more of that kind. During the tasting you can decide how many glasses and which snacks you want. Not too difficult, that's what we like about Paulus.
