RCKY Rotterdam: the best omakase experience in the city
Omakase shimasu — Japanese for "I leave it to you, chef." And that sums up an evening at RCKY nicely. Chef Ricky Biharie opened his new location in Katendrecht. Sixteen seats at the chef's table, a view over the harbor and Ricky cooking one delicious dish after another right in front of you.
Ricky Biharie worked as chief at the iconic SUSHISAMBA and the award-winning W Hotel Edinburgh. From South American and Asian influences to classic Japanese techniques: he has it all. During internships in Japan, he learned all about respect for ingredients and the philosophy behind omakase. All that knowledge and experience now come together at RCKY, and you can taste it.
At Omakase, Ricky is always in charge. He decides which dishes are served, in what order, and with which flavors. He enjoys having his guests sitting opposite him and loves the interaction that arises while he cooks before your eyes. He takes you along in his story, course by course. A small tip when making a reservation: do not spray on heavy perfume. At Omakase, the olfactory experience is just as important as the taste.
Refined Japanese dishes, farm-fresh fish, and nigiri of a level rarely found in Rotterdam. Ricky works exclusively with products of the highest quality: A5 wagyu, caviar, and super-fresh fish from the best suppliers. Every course is a surprise, every detail thought out. And the portions? More generous than you would expect at fine diningFeel free to call it a front-row seat show.
