Ski areas that are guaranteed snow and fun? Then you must have this in SalzburgerLand!

Sneeuwhoogte.nl and other winter sports apps that keep track of the number of meters of snow are now working overtime. As soon as the winter sports season starts, we hope that white mountain peaks will be visible that one week of the year (maybe more often with luck). A ski area with guaranteed snow provides reassurance, preferably in a ski area with guaranteed snow SalzburgerLand, because there they breathe winter sports. That is why this article lists the ski areas snow guaranteed and be fun!

And, and, and: read on to find out how you can win a winter sports trip to SalzburgerLand.

SalzburgerLand

SalzburgerLand

SalzburgerLand is known for: good snow and nice slopes. But it certainly is one go to for fun and that is (almost) just as important. Skiing has been going on in SalzburgerLand since 1894 and each generation adds new elements to each new season. Innovation and quality come first, of course with nature in mind.

And anyone who thinks that SalzburgerLand is one village or small destination is wrong. There are about 70 villages in SalzburgerLand, all of which have their own range of winter activities. In addition to 2.000 kilometers of slopes, you will also find options for cross-country skiing and tobogganing. And we wouldn't be Barts Boekje if we didn't say anything about the catering industry, but pinky promise that things are also going well here in the culinary field.

Obertauern

Obertauern

The snowiest winter sports resort in Austria? Then you have to, with an average of 264 centimeters of snow per year Obertauern knock. The slopes here are between 1.740 and 2.313 meters and snow usually falls here at the end of autumn.

The good weather conditions in Obertauern are due to the region's location; the snow comes here from both the north and the south. And for the fair-weather skier (we are somewhat guilty of this ourselves): the season often continues until June (so eight months of straight snow).

Another nice thing about Obertauern is that you can park your car here, because most accommodations are located directly on the slopes. And no matter which way you look at it, it doesn't matter which way you ski: you will always end up back in the center of Obertauern. Or you 'do' the Tauernrunde: all the slopes in one day - then you make more than 100 kilometers of piste.

high king

Of course we want to go skiing, but we also want to relax in the mountain huts. They know how to combine skiing and mountain huts high king council. On the one hand you have 120 kilometers of prepared slopes (almost guaranteed snow and including the most beautiful views), on the other hand you have culinary delights in the mountain huts. The Hochkönig region in the Ski amadé area actually consists of three places: Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. All connected by 34 state-of-the-art lifts (out of 270 total lifts in Ski amadé). And what you should definitely do there is the Königstour: then you ski over six different mountain peaks, cover 35 kilometers and you can cover the entire Hochkönig ski area in one day. And if you are smart, you will ski from mountain hut to mountain hut, because here you will really enjoy your culinary experience.

Want to join the party? We get it! There are some highlights in March 2023:

  • March 11 to 18: Ski and wine week in Ski amadé
  • March 12: the highest farmers' market in the Alps
  • March 17: Gondel.Alm.Genuss event
  • March 23 to 25: Alpine Craft Festival

Salzburger Sportwelt

Salzburger Sportwelt

If there is one we cannot skip on this list, it is Salzburger Sportwelt with no fewer than seven winter sports resorts (Flachau, Wagrain-Kleinarl, St. Johann, Radstadt, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Eben and Filzmoos). And seven does indeed sound like a lot, and if we tell you that that is no less than 760 kilometers of slopes, then you know enough.

And perhaps the best part about it is that it doesn't get more family-friendly than this. The areas near Eben, Filzmoos and Radstadt-Altenmarkt have even been specially dedicated to family holidays (both off and on the slopes).

So make meters, vamos. With the Panorama Link gondola lift you will be on top of the mountain in a short time and you will have an area of no less than 210 kilometers of contiguous, super-groomed and snow-sure slopes at your disposal. If you ski the 12 Peaks Trophy, you will cover 91,5 kilometers on this tour and climb 10.000 meters in altitude over mountains that are all about 2.000 meters high, with a Trophy as a reward.
