Summer in the mountains: Schlosshotel Fiss, Austria
If you say 'luxury summer (holiday) in the mountains', we say: Schlosshotel Fiss in Austria. Oh, and did we already mention that the temperature is much more stable than in the Netherlands, because there is no maritime climate? So warm, sunny days and cool nights with fresh mountain air. Win-win!
From the hotel you can walk straight into nature. There are hiking trails of all shapes and sizes: from easy panoramic paths to challenging hikes. Or the previously mentioned kids routes. Prefer pedaling to walking? You simply rent a premium e-mountain bike at the hotel itself. And for the daredevils among us: go paragliding. The views? Nextlevel.
Also nice: you automatically receive the following during your stay SUPER. SUMMER. CARD. This gives you free access to cable cars, hiking trails and adventure trips in the entire Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region. Saves you hassle and money, and you can explore the entire area without any extra costs.
And children? They can have a great time here, even away from the hiking trails and the lakes (one of the lakes in the immediate vicinity has a great playground with water fun in the form of sprayers and other water fun). From the Summer Fun Park with a toboggan run and climbing course to the Kids Club in the hotel, with crafts, games and mountain adventures. Teens have their own chill zone with cinema, table football and a climbing wall. So while they are busy, you can do nothing.
After such an active day, there is only one thing left to think about: where is the spa? Well, at Schlosshotel Fiss is that a whole experience in itself. Think: indoor and outdoor pools with a view of the mountains, jacuzzis with salt water, a complete sauna world and great massages. There is a separate Splash Water World. You know, so you can relax without bombs.
Culinarily, you're in the right place here too. You start the day with an extensive breakfast buffet, for lunch you can flop down on the sunny terrace for an afternoon buffet - wow, those mountains make you hungry! Psst, the views are amazing. For an extra relaxed evening, you can join the bar for a cocktail or another signature drink, with live music in the background (a total of 3x a week in the summer).
In the evening, a top-quality multi-course dinner. There is even a separate children's buffet. And the wine list? It has about 700.
