Sleeping at boutique hotel 't Keershuys in Den Bosch
Ah, boutique hotel 't Keershuys, so that is quite a concept in Den Bosch. Right in the bustling heart of the Brabant capital you will find the stylish hotel where a number of the tastefully decorated rooms are rightly called 'royal suites', although the 'simple' luxury rooms are all equally beautiful and not at all simple. To go? Good idea. Then also make sure you have a table in the bistro belonging to the hotel: Bistro 't Keershuys. Then after dinner you can roll upstairs and certainly be very satisfied. Now that's what we call a textbook staycation. Perfect for a weekend in Den Bosch.
You find it boutique hotel 't Keershuys in the Bossche Lepelstraat, one of the (very) nicest streets in Den Bosch. A good start, because it is definitely the perfect base in the center of the city. From your home for a while you can walk to all the nice places that Den Bosch has to offer and, handy well, the hotel is also close to the central station.
The building that houses boutique hotel 't Keershuys is a national monument, but inside the hotel is fully equipped. This ensures that delicious combination of authentic elements and the modern luxury that you want when you treat yourself to a day out. The hotel consists of two buildings that are next to each other in the cozy Lepelstraat. And then the rooms... Too beautiful! The interior is classic without being old-fashioned, the use of color is soothing without being boring and the wonderful Kingsize Auping bed provides (really!) a real sleeping experience (and yes it was).
Of course, we also have to eat. We just love that, especially when we can roll into our bed after a nice meal. This is the case at 't Keershuys. The hotel has a lovely bistro where you can go for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a Burgundian drink. When the weather is nice, you can sit perfectly on the terrace.
What's cooking? Well, quite a few: from a classic tournedos with pepper sauce to a poke bowl with salmon. Be sure to take the 4-course surprise menu. That's not on the menu, but ask for it and the kitchen will cook it for you. In front of our noses were tuna sashimi, prawn tempura, a tournedos with the aforementioned pepper sauce (a must here, the family recipe has been around for three generations) and finally a delicious scroppino with ice cream and tiramisu. All too delicious.
Next up? Sleep like a king on the aforementioned king-size Auping bed. And then sit down again for breakfast. Equipped and well. There too, at breakfast, the choice is enormous: upon arrival you immediately receive a fresh smoothie, after which you can go to the buffet with a variety of fresh rolls, toppings and fruit. You can also order from the menu. Take, for example, the acai bowl with fresh fruit or a perfectly fried egg. What you call a good start to the day and then go out and explore Den Bosch.
