The owners of restaurant Taberna La Carmencita in Madrid we have encountered before. Need a refresher? In chronological order: first Celso Y Manolo, a good number one because you definitely want to come there more often. After that Taberna La Carmencita and last but not least La Vaquería Montañesa. We may still miss a pearl, but we must be forgiven for that, because after all, we are not there yet all the way at home in the Spanish food scene. Anyways: Taberna La Carmencita is first of all a beautiful restaurant: beautiful tiles on the wall, beautiful bar at the entrance, nice Article and industrial lamps. Not all Spanish (there are French plates on the table and the waiter speaks French too), but the atmosphere (look at those tiles!) is undeniably Spanish. Secondly, the food: paella is well represented on the menu, plus a number of (we are told) classics from Madrid. We have not (yet) tasted those, but we have tried the best most juicy meatballs made according to a very special recipe (hours of preparation) with lamb. Taberna La Carmencita
