You can get simple, affordable (and tasty!) sandwiches at The Sandwich Bar Amsterdam
Just a simple, affordable cheese sandwich is sometimes difficult to find in our capital. With all the trendy vegan places being launched, you just want to go back to basics every now and then, don't you? At least we do! And that is why we really embrace the concept of Sofie Oosterhoff and Julia Alting Siberg: The Sandwich Bar in Amsterdam West (Nassaukade 378) has a menu full of richly filled rolls, all between two and six euros.
No fuss, but 'back-to-basic' richly filled rolls in a hip jacket. You can go to The Sandwich Bar every day of the week, from 0:7 am. The interior is also certainly hip, with paintings on the walls, copper-colored lamps and a mix of white and black on the walls. Take your sandwich with you, or eat it on the spot at the window, where you can watch people undisturbed. On it menu In addition to the good old rolls with young cheese, filet americain and egg salad, you will also find the 'Mokum' (beef sausage with old cheese and red onion), a sandwich or (filled) croissants. Everything fresh and very tasty (we have now tested 4 flavors).
The 'Morning deal' is also a very nice one: a cup of coffee, cappuccino or tea with a croissant and a pistol of your choice for only €4,50. Please call us if you have found it cheaper (and just as tasty!) somewhere in the center of Amsterdam.
No, this is definitely not the weather to enjoy sailing a boat through the canals. But remember this for the warmer months of the year, because this is what you want. At The Sandwich Bar they do a 'Sandwich in your boat'. Just call with your order and presto, half an hour later you are enjoying your pistolet. You can even order a glass of wine or a beer. A sandwich shop after our own hearts.
