Eating and going: walks near Den Bosch with catering
Sun on your head, wearing walking shoes and walking briskly. We seem to have almost forgotten one of the Netherlands' biggest corona hobbies. Podcast up and enjoy the heart of nature. Where? Out our previously written list (where we immediately recommend the nearest coffee spots) it turns out that the choice is enormous throughout the Netherlands. But let's be honest, those walking routes in Brabant seem the most enjoyable. That is why the southern province with the Burgundian Den Bosch deserves its own list. These are nice walks near Den Bosch with catering options on the side.

Do you know why we love Den Bosch so much? Because they know how Carnival works, they understand the term Burgundian and the village feeling to city is? Certainly true, but also because of that heart of nature right next to it! Het Bossche Broek is the backyard of Den Bosch.
Just outside the city walls and ideal for cycling or walking. Go for a tour around the Zuiderplas, walk to Vught (read more below) and take the ferry.

From Den Bosch you can easily cross to the neighbors: Vught. And anyone who says Brabant has no beach has never been there Iron Man been. De IJzeren Man Vught is located on the Vughtse Heide nature reserve and has a rich history. The bird lover spot here robins, wrens, jays, nuthatches, kingfishers and collared redstarts. And in the middle of this oh-so-nice piece of greenery lies IJM Vught, where you can swim in the summer and get your skates on in the winter.
For all walking and cycling routes it is best to click here, then we can move on to the catering industry. So you have to be on the beach of the lake for that. Relax on a bed or have a snack in the beach tent. A holiday feeling guaranteed When in Vught.
And a little further than Vught (yup, Vught's neighbors) is Boxtel. In Boxtel you can enjoy a lovely walk through the Kampina or around the Hooibrug (where the pictures above were taken).
Sometimes we need a goal, between all that walking: taking the 10.000 steps, the well-deserved lunch after walking or taking the most beautiful pictures. With the latter comes the DJI Mini 3 drone look around the corner, which we have already talked about. A compact and ultra-light drone that anyone (read: really anyone) can take for a ride. The drone weighs just under 250 grams, so you do not need a drone license (which means no course or exam). Register with the RDW as owner/operator of the drone is necessary, after which you will receive an operator number.
Registration check, then flying can begin. In your left hand you take the smart controller with built-in screen with touch screen. This will allow you to control the drone. Where to start? The drone can take off automatically at the push of a button thanks to the 'car takeoff-function'. It flies wonderfully stable, hello self-confidence. After taking off you can start taking your pictures and then use the drone return to home to fly home again.
Ease of use, check! What about the quality? That is also 100% fine. Photos with outstanding quality and 4K videos with lifelike colors and details. The drone comes with nice features, such as preset flight patterns, automatic tracking, target tracking.
But drones always run out of power so quickly, don't they? Not this one. Thanks to the three batteries, you can fly for almost three hours.
What we are secretly very happy with is the True Vertical Shooting, which allows most drones to take portrait photos in addition to landscape photos (useful for the social).
Also nice: you are not a pack mule, the drone is very compact.
Most beautiful municipality in Brabant? Heusden joins the battle. A fifteen minute drive from Den Bosch and you can step into a picture postcard. Heusden is one of the eleven fortified towns of the Zuiderwaterlinie, where history washes over you.
Heusden knows a nice walk of 5,5 kilometers and then you have a bit of everything, completely in the 17th century style. So you walk through centuries-old streets, past stately buildings with art galleries, boutiques, past mills and bridges and through the harbor. Yes, walking is fun, but can we also enjoy a bite to eat or a drink? Duh. For the best view you have to go to Boei 35 and to 't IJshuys, how could it be otherwise, for the best ice cream.
Who doesn't know him The Dungen? It is located east of Den Bosch and you can enjoy walking there. Here you put on your walking shoes for, for example, the dike route: a route of 13 kilometers along or over the dikes.
Bring your shopping bag, because When In Den Dungen you can visit the most beautiful farms and shop for the tastiest fruit and asparagus. Have a bite to eat at De Dungense Brug.
Huh, Iron Woman? But we were talking about the Iron Man, right? Yup, so you have the Woman and the Man. The Iron Woman is a lake where you used to swim and where you can now walk. You will find the lake between the Muntel and Graafsepoort. Oh and you can eat delicious cake there. You eat that at Theehuis Bloem. You can eat a complete, tasty meal at Soete Moeder, a little further away.
