In December 2021 the time had come, full of lockdown and yet a new highlight in our beloved city (yes, Amsterdam): wine bar and restaurant Sinck. No, not Stuyver as we wrote earlier. Sinck is the name, run by an extremely talented threesome - Sabas, Sander and Timo - who have years of experience in top catering establishments, such as De Librije, &Moshik and De Vrienden van Jacob. With a good dose of experience under their belt, the men now opened their own 'Sinck'. Being the place for many wine lovers and bon vivants if it is up to the men. Why? Come here for really tasty wines and food in a casual, hospitable setting. The we-find-the-top tent is located in a historic building on the Prinsengracht.
One thing is clear upon entering: everything revolves around wine. And let's be honest, we can live with that. A real wine room immediately attracts attention. In this room the most beautiful wines are eagerly waiting to be uncorked. The wine list has been put together by sommelier Sabas, sommelier at De Librije for eight years, who knows what top wines are.
He has a love for artisanal wines with a diverse taste. You will see this on the menu, but also a wide range of accessible and well-priced wine. Oh yes, you can also order many wines by the glass. We don't want to offend, but this is great to discover which flavor/type is your ultimate favorite!
You can dine extensively in the restaurant with open kitchen, on the ground floor of the building. A suitable wine can be served with each dish. Chef Sander, who previously worked as... chef worked at De Vrienden van Jacob, gives substance to the menu. The quality of products and the focus on very tasty sauces form the basis of all dishes. Extra fun: you can eat a three-course menu for just four euros!
Host Timo (among others & Moshik) will convey the 'Sinck feeling' with great enthusiasm. This means a very nice service in an open, relaxed way. Exactly what you want in an accessible setting, right? The wine and dinner menu in combination with such top service ensures that you don't want to leave. And – if we can believe the owners – you certainly don't want that when you enter the basement.
Here you will find the wine bar. Before or after the meal (both are also possible) take a seat at the bar or on one of the nice seats. In addition to the wonderful wines, small dishes and snacks will also be served. We can't wait!
