That's why we went looking for the best/nicest/tastiest wine bars in the country or those always good places, so that you can confidently peruse that wine list and always be sure of what you're doing. And yes, we succeeded! Check out where you should go for the tastiest wines to tsjink or to taste, so that you can impress your friends with your wine knowledge afterwards.
We already knew that Zwolle is always a culinary party. But this pearl of a wine bar completes the picture! Right in the heart of the city, Wijnbar OAK serves wine as it should be: without fuss, but with taste. Accessible, affordable and cozy homely - this is the place to be. Treat yourself to a high wine with five beautiful wines, an extensive snack platter and a dessert to top it all off. The explanation at the table? Absolutely top, so that you go home satisfied and a little wiser. Zwollywood, here we come!
Rotterdam is home to the special wine bar, Walsjerot. The wine bar is one of those where the rules are slightly different than usual. No waiters at your table here to refill your wine glass: you can do that yourself. 70 different types of wines flow from the taps. Do you want to discover what you like? Try a sip! Next to restaurant Hemel & Aarde – which more than lives up to its name – you will find the accompanying wine bar. Here they follow the seasons in a completely unique way, which means: always new wines to discover. A good excuse to come back often. And believe us, you will!
Literally a few somersaults from the Grote Kerk in Breda you will find Wijnrestaurant Pinot. Here everything revolves around delicious wine and food combinations and a nice explanation – an evening full of enjoyment guaranteed. In the basement of the cellar, also known as La Pinotheque, no less than 1500 bottles of wine are waiting. Dream material for at home, but luckily you can just visit them. Bonus: wine lessons are given in the cellar and you can join in for private dining. Cheers!
From Tuesday to Saturday, Marius Wijncafé is the place to be for wine lovers. But sake also steals the show here – totally hot! The wine list changes monthly (smart, because you just have to come back). And if your favorite bottle is not on the list? Don't worry, they will have it ready for you in the store. Cheers!
Cour de Vins in the heart of Bloemendaal, formerly a pancake house and now a true wine bar. Think; scallops, steak tartare, tortelonni, venison sukade, wild duck pate and cheesecake. Here you can expect old classics in a nice setting!
On to Nijmegen, because that's where you'll find Wijnbar Buskens. It's clear that it's all about wine here. Step aboard this voyage of discovery, where you don't just drink wine, but really experience it. The wines are carefully selected and brought in by local importers. And in addition to the wine list changing regularly, the menu also changes. Because food without wine is nothing, but wine without food is nothing either. Here, the two always go hand in hand.
In 2023 they were named wine bar of the year in the Netherlands, and honestly? They continue to impress. Not only are the wines top notch here, but a true work of art is also served on your plate. Think of dishes such as Iberico ham with padrón peppers, fish cakes with lemon mayonnaise, green asparagus with candied portobello, wild mushrooms, hazelnut and cherry. And that's just the beginning! Everything is meant to be shared, but hey, if you prefer to eat everything yourself, no judgement here.
We love coffee and certainly a glass of good wine. At the restaurant and coffee & wine lounge By NOA you are in the right place. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning (and carrot cake or another exciting pastry, ever heard of a Spanish Brötli?). Sipping one of the 60 different beautiful wines in the evening with Jazz music echoing in the background is simply fantastic. You can choose between traditional wines from France or Italy, but also less obvious ones from the US or Argentina and we find those less popular gems of wines the most fun to discover. We don't want to cause any offense but uh... we'll see you there!

Wine Club NOTK – the name alone sounds fancy. Located on the always lively Deliplein, surrounded by restaurants and terraces, this is the place to go for a good glass of wine. And the best part? Cross the water and you can roll into bed at Hotel New York, or take the water taxi back to the city centre. Be sure to have another glass (or two), because coming home? That will be fine. Easy peasy!
More Roffa…. In the Witte de Withstraat is Wijnbar Het Eigendom, a true classic since 2011. Esther and Pieter proudly run their 'property' here - a dream come true. Together with their sommelier, chef and team, they have everything in order. You can't miss it in the street: high windows, an atmospheric interior and a spacious bar. Inside? Wine, wine and even more wine. With no less than 135 wines on the menu and 35 that you can order by the glass, you will be busy here for a while.
At South North Haarlem is the place to go for the most delicious glasses of organic wines. Not only are the wines delicious, you also have a delicious menu with a finger-licking good menu. Shrimp croquettes, Slovenian charcuterie (exciting), but also gnochhi tartuffata with proscuitto or a tempting steak tartare are served. We are sold!

The wine merchant of Rotterdam also has a wine bar: welcome to Proef bij Platenburg. With around fifty open wines, there is guaranteed to be something you like. Are you already convinced of the wines? Then let the kitchen brigade spoil you for the ultimate experience. And did you know that they also have a living room here? Perfect for private parties. Yay, let the party begin!
Yep, guess where in Amsterdam? In de Pijp of course! Where everything that is hip is within a somersault distance of each other. So is Wijnbar Paulus. Here it feels like you are sitting in your living room, but without those supermarket wines (although sometimes they can secretly be quite tasty). Paul knows what really good wine is and has a top selection ready for you. So what are you waiting for? On to Paulus!
The name makes us happy, the wines even more so. Glou Glou, in Amsterdam South, is the first 'vin natural' bar in Amsterdam and not just any one. The name already reveals why. All wines are made from only healthy, intact grapes. The interior is simple but cozy and the natural wines they serve are delicious. Definitely one of my favorites.

At the very end (almost) of the Westerstraat, which we very much love (we lived around the corner for years and now around the corner, an extra block around the block, but that is completely useless information) there has been a green, very inconspicuous place for years. cafe. Café De Parel is the name, and that was fine. Nobody gets in the way, but we didn't really pay attention to it either. See you now! Because four friends moved into the business and now cook really fantastic meals there. In the category of, say, BAK, Choux, De Goudfazant, Entrepot… Anyway, you get the point. Another great new one opened near De Parel: Café Parlotte. Parlotte? Yes, that means chatting. “About the everyday and about life. About what fascinates us and what affects us, about food, about wine. Nice wine, delicious food, but above all the fun of spending an evening together in a nice place. That is Café Parlotte,” they say themselves. We mainly see a wonderful café for every day of the week where you can enjoy wine, oysters, charcuterie, cheese and other tasty things from just before five o'clock. They don't take reservations (after all, there is always room in a café), and we were there during terrace weather (and had a lobster gratin sandwich and one with pastrami), so it is not yet entirely clear to us how this is Corona-wise ( So maybe call just to be sure). From 18.00 p.m. you can sit down for a fixed three- or four-course menu and a number of specials outside the menu.
'Pif': that's French for the first nose, the first introduction to wine. That is of course a good introduction because when we hear the word 'wine' we are all ears. In short, Bar Pif offers wines and goodies on the side instead of the other way around. It is clear that they come from a good (wine) house: Alex + Pinard and Rebelwines also come from the same minds. Red, white, they have everything and you know you're in the right place. The wines taste especially delicious on the cozy terrace.
