The Wildkogel Arena in SalzburgerLand is the destination for active nature lovers
Higher, harder and faster. Three ingredients that characterize your holiday? Then we just have a good tip for you. The Wildkogel-Arena is a region in SalzburgerLand and the destination for active nature lovers. Don't laze around (which is also fine, but that's probably not what you come for), but seek out the adrenaline. The Wildkogen Arena has so many activities that will spice up your holiday. Add to that a good dose of nature, excellent restaurants and nice accommodations and in our opinion you have plenty of reasons to plan a holiday to De Wildkogel-Arena. At the foothills of Austria's highest mountains, the towns of Neukirchen and Bramberg are two wonderful destinations for those who want to soak up nature.
Ok, need a little push? Then we will probably convince you enough with this article.
It's been a long time since we had to convince readers that going to the Austrian mountains for a holiday isn't boring. We will no longer explain to you that it is completely hot and happening, but we are happy to repeat why we are going so hard on it ourselves. Often the majority of summer destinations are too hot, too touristy or there is not enough to do to keep the kids entertained for long. In comes SalzburgerLand with activities that you have probably never heard of and that keep the kids excited, accommodations that are not yet fully booked but are really cool, restaurants with friendly staff and local products, and parts of nature without encountering thousands of people.
On one side of the valley there are two quiet side valleys in the national park. Habachtal proves that you don't have to go all the way to Africa to go on an excursion with a ranger, because there are plenty of animals and plants to be found here and the rangers are happy to take you along. You can also look for emeralds in the Habachtal (unique in Europe!). Or you can opt for the (e-)bike & hike tour, where you cycle to the end of the valley and from there you go uphill on foot to one of the many Hütte and Alms that you will find there.
You will definitely achieve 10.000 steps here, because walking is the most fun thing in this region. A few more steps? The long-distance hiking trail 'Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail' will not disappoint.
But what do we do with those kids we brought with us? No worries, plenty to do. For example, at the top of the cable car on the Wildkogel is 'Kogel-Mogel': an adventure playground and the start of the mountain karting route to the valley. Looking for a scoop? Okay, let's do it. At the middle station you can also choose to go down the mountain on long steel slides. You can then relax in the sun loungers by the deep blue reservoirs.
In the Wildkogel-Arena, as a guest at many of the accommodations you will receive the 'Nationalpark Summer Card' as a gift, which gives you discounts or even free entrance to many sights and facilities in the region (such as cable cars, public transport, special walking taxis and renting a buggy).
The diametric opposite of being active is resting well and eating good food. Then you've come to the right place. And for every wallet: luxurious hotels with spas, swimming pools and a sauna, to cozy guesthouses without frills. And of course apple strudel! Yes, even in the summer, go out onto the terrace, into the sun and enjoy this local delicacy.
There's a good chance that we'll be in SalzburgerLand this summer anyway. Even more fun if we don't have to open our wallets for it. SalzburgerLand is giving away no fewer than seven (!) summer holidays for two people in a 4**** hotel, including breakfast and dinner. Participation is easy easy: Complete the question below via the link, complete the slogan and submit your entry.
The question is: how many stages does the Salzburger Almenweg consist of? 17, 25 or 350. And the slogan you have to complete is: I want to go on holiday to SalzburgerLand, ……………………….. (max. 10 words)
