Finding a good yoga retreat in Bali is sometimes more difficult than it seems. It is bursting with trendy shops where you can take Hatha, Yin or Pilates lessons and spend the night in the most beautiful houses, but which one do you choose? A real one Zen-destination Baligrass retreats in the inland town of Sesandan in Tabanan Bali; a retreat center away from busy tourism, run by the locals. 

 

Here you start and end your day with a yoga session in the spacious yoga shala with a view over the green rice fields, and fresh food is also cooked for you three times a day. In the morning there is fresh fruit with homemade pancakes or a veggie omelet ready for you, and a changing menu for the evening. Add rice, tempeh, chicken, bok choy, watermelon juice and your day full of zen is over.

After a nap in one of the guesthouses, you can stroll leisurely to the most beautiful spot in Baligrass. Different yoga styles are taught every day in the yoga shala on the premises, with a beautiful view over the rice fields. You do not have to be a yoga pro to participate in the yoga classes, every level is welcome. Stretch and relax.

Afraid that you will be bored about that? That's not necessary, yours local tour guide has thought of everything. When you walk out of your own cabin, the program is already ready. On Wednesday you will make coconut oil with an Indonesian couple in a cozy shed. They will passionately demonstrate the chopping of the coconut and the oiling process, until you bring your own bottle of oil. On Thursday one of the locals take you into the village for one village clean upYes, you too go into the village with a grabber and garbage bag to collect plastic waste. In the meantime you can see all the highlights of the village.
