9 times almost open in Amsterdam

Following the 25 x New ones in Amsterdam we still have such a nice list. Namely 9 times almost open in Amsterdam. Better known as '9 x look forward to this one soon to be 9 x Nieuwen in Amsterdam'.

The Seafood Shop
Our Brabant friends from The Seafood Bar Amsterdam are on already roll! The club has not 1, not 2 but 3 addresses (on the van Baerlestraat, the Spui and in the Ferdinand Bolstraat) in Amsterdam where you can go for truly the tastiest plateau royal full of delicious fish and seafood (and: for a glass of Ruinart that they have open as standard, the tastiest champagne). And now there is no less than case number 4! Once again at an AA location (which is nice) on Amsterdam's Leidsestraat, in the heart of the city indeed and not far from the location on the Spui.

Fondue East
Fondue Oost takes over James Bar. What Fondue Oost will do? Tatataaa: melting cheeses. Duh. Which we can then dip into endless amounts of bread. And vegetables. Or something. The doors open on September 19.

prinzwolf

Tartaria Prinz Wolf
Few chefs know how to delight us as much as Michael Wolf. You-know-what from Wolf Atelier. Youknownot? Then please read it here. Anyway: Michael Wolf. Michael is detail oriented. Here's to good food. On good furnishings. And so on. Everything was neatly arranged. And good. And so good that a second location will be opened next to Wolf Atelier! The new location will focus on tartare. Michael already does that in his current tent at lunch and that tartare of his is really not to be missed, it's so good (we also wrote about that, duh..., and you can read that here). So it makes sense that that tartare will be put in the spotlight at Prinz Wolf on the Prinsengracht. In addition, oysters, wine, cocktails and from date. Unfortunately not yet, but it will open in October, so we will all gallop to Prinz Wolf.

Mr Hazelnut
What matters here is this: if we ask for more tacos, we get not one but even two Mexican restaurants in Amsterdam! Number 1 is the recently opened one in Amsterdam Noord Coba Taqueria, number two it is soon to be Mr Hazelnut Amsterdam in our own Jordaan. On the beautiful Egelantiersstraat to be precise, at number 24. And yes, that makes us very happy. Just a little more patience...

Barts-Boekje-pigs & punch

Pigs & Punch
There is no such thing as coincidence. Because what is the meaning of 'coincidence': just when we are completely 'into' pork (pulled pork! Schnitzels! Not available at Bart HQ), we get the news of a soon to be 'pork heaven'. Ole. Do we have to wait a little longer: it won't (re)open until September'the godfather' (the words of the press agency) from the Amsterdam bar industry Sergej Fokke his bar Mystique (never discussed here on Barts Boekje, but they have a point, the people from the press agency. And we are too only human) under a new name, with a new concept. Who what where? That's right: cocktail bar & restaurant Pigs & Punch. Aka 'pork heaven'.

Bar Bouwmeester
Not open yet, but as soon as the time comes (almost almost - the plan is sometime in early October 2017), you can go to the Rijnstraat in Amsterdam South for a full menu all day long. Breakfast with a fatty bite? Bar Bouwmeester. Dinner with a fried egg? Bar Bouwmeester. And all this in the always pleasant Rivierenbuurt where 1) it is quite nice but 2) it could still use a contemporary address. Where? At the address where Lot's Lunchroom used to be, next to the Coffee Company, you can't miss it.

Mook

Mook Pancakes #2
MOOK Pancakes is expanding. There will be a second branch on Jodenbreestraat. Right, around the corner from Waterlooplein. Just in the center and around the corner for Amsterdam East residents. A great location for a second tent. MOOK 2.0 will be a giant pancake palace: room for 100 people inside plus (!) 30 to 40 places outside on the terrace. Terrace! Topperdetop.

Dirty Chicken Club
The chicken ball will be coming to the Warmoestraat and the club's Facebook page suggests that it will be a lot: the fried chicken comes in many shapes and sizes, provided it is original and delicious (beer can chicken anyone?) Yes. There are cocktails. There will be 'freak shakes' (special (milk) shakes that will be heavily Instagrammed anyway) and there will be street art.

Cannibal Royal #4
Bistro Noord in Amsterdam Noord (as if that needs an explanation) is no more. The location was very large and it was very difficult to fill a tent like that during the week... Too bad. But really. Although they think very differently about that at Cannibale Royale. They think they will attract a full house with their (fantastic) Meats, Burgers, Bones and (apparently they also have that) Green Stuff. And I'm sure it will.

Love, Bloeme
