On the Oudegracht in Utrecht - at the bottom of the wharf - you will find American Steakhouse Broadway. In terms of location, not necessarily a restaurant you would quickly go to; in the busy city center, between all the tourist eateries. But whoever knows that among all those tourist eateries there is also such a great one, want to go here. The case was closed in 2015 completely renovated and since the renovation (even more than before) it has truly become 'a piece of New York in Utrecht'.

It looks something like this: bare walls, industrial furnishings (lamps with metal details, brown leather chairs, etc.) in two spacious cellars with a passage in the middle. The left cellar, where you enter, has a small waiting area with high tables where you can sit for a cocktail or something. Further on the left, in a kind of alcove, two large tables, if you are with a larger group, and on the right small tables for two. In the right cellar is the bar with various seating areas opposite - American diner style. Our favorite place!

The name of the business, American Steakhouse Broadway, can be seen everywhere inside: in classic black and white photos and also on the cocktail menu you can choose a Yellow Cab - a cocktail that comes with a New York taxi license plate - or the Phantom of the Opera. The latter in particular is fan-tas-tic. The cocktails have been specially composed for American Steakhouse Broadway by the Cocktail Professor. So you can't get it anywhere else. The menu is also American: the menu includes steaks, ribs and especially very large portions. Although the starters are delicious (sweet ribs, smoked salmon toast, (very tasty!) fish soup and more), you'll want to save room for your head, trust us. Go for the all-star ribs; a mix of sweet, spicy and spicy ribs. For those who can't choose: just order everything, including the starter.
