Bakkiekoek in Tilburg: from ice cream cart at the Piushaven to own business in the Dwaalgebied
Sometimes things can move fast. Do you remember that we wrote last year about Pleun with her ice cream cart at the Piushaven? She sold homemade cookies with ice cream there, and when the weather was nice, it was a regular treat for those with a sweet tooth. Now, less than a year later, she has her own business in Tilburg. Yep: Cup of cake has been given a permanent spot in one of the most beautiful streets of the Dwaalgebied.

Pleun's dream was clear: to open a physical store where the scent of fresh cookies and a good cup of coffee come together. No long lead-up, no endless planning. Just do it. And so she didAnd that while she is only 26 years old.
At Cup of cake So, it's all about coffee-flavored cookies. Think tiramisu, flat white, matcha, or cappuccino. The flavors change, as three different cookies are on the menu every week. Everything is homemade and freshly baked.
The shop has only just opened: the doors opened for the first time in mid-April. Besides cookies, there is of course good coffee and, not unimportantly, ice cream.
Inside, the wooden counter and the cozy atmosphere of the place immediately catch the eye. The aroma of fresh baked goods does the rest, as does the friendliness of the Tilburg native behind the counter. Whether for a quick coffee or to sit down for a while, it works both ways here.
Good to know: Cup of cake It will remain open in the Dwaalgebied until the end of September anyway. And no time (or desire) to go out? You can also simply order the cookies online via her website. They will then be baked fresh for you and delivered to your home.
