Asian street food @ Bambu Kitchen and Bar Haarlem
For example about the arrival of Bambu Kitchen and Bar in Haarlem! Not to be missed on the main market haarlem, certainly not when oysters, sushi, Japanese beer and cocktails are your cravings. Although, thanks to the looks and good-natured service of Bambu Kitchen and Bar, you can also feel like doing it! We think the place is beautiful, we like the vibe.
Owner Julian also ran Sushi Time in Utrecht and Leiden and therefore knows the ins and outs of Asia. But it was time for something different. Different city, different name, still the Asian flair.
By the way, Bumbu Kitchen & Bar Haarlem has nothing to do with it, which also recently opened Bumbu Kitchen in Amsterdam; that one letter makes the difference. That's besides the point. Back to Haarlem.
Inside, the Bali vibes are very much on: green tiled wall, rattan lampshades, colored chairs, long sofa against the wall... No rocket science, but very well done. Nice now and there could be a few more of them in Haarlem. Although we think the dishes we are served are almost even more beautiful!
Beautiful blue and white tableware with the occasional red or green plate for variety. Photogenic-much. Topped with delicious (pork) Gyoza, Tuna Tataki, a bao bun with duck (don't miss), tempura shrimp (what else) and rendang croquettes. Among other things. Very nicely prepared, everything delicious.
Bambu Kitchen & Bar also has a nice terrace. We'll be back, with more time and even more appetite.
