Eindhoven has a new favorite spot. Bar Pietro on the corner of Grote Berg and Bergstraat is small, cozy and exudes that unmistakable Italian easeJust opened, and yet we already know this is a real hotspot.

Bar Pietro is Pieter's labor of love (aka Pietro, born and raised in Eindhoven with a passion for food, hospitality, and the good life. As soon as you step inside, you'll notice the heart and soul put into this restaurant.

The menu features schiacciata sandwiches you won't easily find in Eindhoven (and the surrounding area). We hear you thinking, "A schia-what?! A schiacciata is an Italian bread, golden brown and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The perfect base for a generous, flavorful sandwich.

We went for the schiacciata 'cavolo nero' with fiocchino, cavolo nero, straciatella, orange vinaigrette and walnut pesto and it is spot-onThe menu also includes surprising combinations ranging from mortadella con pistacchio, artichoke cream, and straciatella to classics like caprese.

Even before you step inside, you know it's a cozy place, because there's a disco ball hanging outside. So, it won't surprise you that from 14.00 p.m. Bar Pietro effortlessly slides towards the appetizer. The deli fridge fills up and arancini and semifreddo, among other things, appear on the table. Want to drink? Organic lemonade, Prosecco, Crémant, Spritz, orange wine or a good cup of coffee.
