Café Rabarber, Utrecht

The kind of place where you start with coffee in the morning, then order breakfast (because you can't resist) and you're still sitting there at four in the afternoon - that's Rhubarb. In the Zadelstraat in Utrecht, nearby All The Luck in the World, this is it small coffee. There is a cafe outside Rhubarb not very noticeable, despite the bright red 'Rhubarb' on both windows (maybe it's just us? We've certainly walked past it at least ten times. It just seems very dark when you look inside), while inside so it is always busy and pleasant. There is a cozy living room atmosphere that makes you not want to leave once you are seated.

The wall is tiled with white and pink checks, plants everywhere, several small vases with flowers on the brown tables and fantastic little seats by the window (perfect place for the busy weekend; all kinds of things pass by).

Coffee in the morning with a hearty breakfast; such as fluffy hotcakes with fresh fruit and whiskey-butterscotch sauce (yay) or sourdough bread with hard goat cheese, homemade apple syrup and almond shavings. It's all good. In the afternoon and evening an easy, but no less tasty snack, with a bottle of wine on the side. Extra fun: Rhubarb officially closes at twelve o'clock in the evening, but if it's nice and busy, it can easily be two o'clock in the morning. Rhubarb
