From neighborhood cafe to city favorite: YUSU opens Café Susy
You hear the word Community often. Perhaps the edge has faded a bit, but for a hospitality business, it can still make the difference between a pleasant place and a place you keep coming back to. YUSU is a good example of this. They look beyond the cup of coffee that crosses the counter, are visibly involved in their community, and have been building something for years that feels bigger than just hospitality.
The fact that the coffee is also excellent certainly helps. With its own beans, creative coffees, and baked goods from its own bakery, YUSU is firmly established in the Amsterdam coffee scene. And now it's time for the next step. After several temporary ventures outside of East, the team behind YUSU is opening two new places in the city: Café Susy in Amsterdam East en During the day YUSU at Contra, right in the centerSame quality, same vibe, but at two very different locations.
We already knew they were good at coffee and everything that comes with it. But the team behind YUSU has so much more to offer when it comes to cuisine. They prove it with their new hotspot in the Transvaal neighborhood of Amsterdam East: Café SusyYUSU's sister café, with the same familiar vibe, but a slightly different offering.
At Susy the focus is on a mix of the Brazilian and Surinamese cuisine, something you'll see on the menu and in the snacks. The biggest (and most fun) difference? Café Susy is also open in the evenings three days a weekThen the place transforms into a cozy, informal eatery where you can enjoy comfort food perfectly suited to the cuisine. At reasonable prices, as we've come to expect from YUSU, you can easily stay late. For a plate of comfort food, a liter bottle of Parbo beer, (natural) wine, or a cocktail.
