Calgary in a nutshell

Calgary in a nutshell

Calgary is the largest city in Canada after Toronto and Montreal and the largest city in the province of Alberta with 1,3 million inhabitants. What is immediately noticeable is that Calgarians are friendly, down to earth and be open. Most people have a migration background, move all over the world and eventually return to Calgary to settle there with knowledge they have acquired all over the world. And there you immediately see the root of the many small businesses with an international vibe. Calgary is the city of many cozy restaurants, Calgary Flames (ice hockey is Canada's biggest sport), plenty museums, Calgary Tower, nice people and a touch of cowboy. In the summer it is buzzing with festivals and in the winter it is nice and cozy (and cold).

Fun fact: because of the cold winter months, Calgary has the Skywalk (Plus 15 Network) where 80+ covered bridges connect more than a hundred buildings over more than 50 khối and 16 kilometers. Nice when it's -20 degrees that you can walk through the city without a jacket on.

How do you get there?

How do you get there?

You fly directly from Amsterdam to Calgary in 9 hours. You fly around noon and arrive – hey, time difference – mid-afternoon, so you can immediately have a pleasant evening in Calgary and overcome the jet lag.

If you want to fly a little more relaxed, look at KLM's Premium Comfort Class. Sometimes only €150 more expensive and that gives you more legroom, more rest and more extensive food. The friendliness and service at KLM are great in all classes. So that holiday is already starting in the air.

If you have a long wait at Schiphol, consider booking additional access to the KLM Lounge. There you can sit in your own seat, get food from the buffet and have the opportunity to work or chill for a few more hours.
